Bissell ProHeat Scotchgard 7901-1 Does the job...

Pros It Really works! Spots included!
Cons A little heavy and bulky to get up the stairs.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Reliable and economical, I absolutely recommend it.
I purchased the Bissell Proheat from our local Costco for $199, which is about average for price but it does come packed with extra goodies, Costco Style. Three bottles of Scotchguard, a sample bottle of cleaner and all the attachments. Even an extra belt. It's a great package if you have incontinent pets or children.

First piece of advice for a consumer going to invest a sum of money in one of these machines...Purchase it from Costco. If for any reason, it breaks down, quits performing or whatever...simply haul it back to Costco with your receipt and you will be given cash back...at any point in time. I purchased a lower end version of this machine and used it for two years. It quit working and I returned and with not one question asked, was given a cash refund so I invested in a new one. There ARE NOT very many retailers that will do this for you. They will generally refer to the 800 number of the machine after 2-4 weeks for service problems.

The Pro's ...It WORKS!!!
Ok, that being said...This little baby kicks butt. I have taken everything from mounds (I know EW) of dog poop, pet urine, kool aid...etc. It has YET to fail me after a YEAR of hardcore use. I average pulling it out every other week.
I like the option of heating the water and will sometime do an additional run through with just water to be sure I have got the funk out...and all the cleaner. It is simple to use...simply turn two switched and go to town. I also found it much quieter than previous models I have owned. There is a generous sized attachment to work out spots or do the stairs with.

I have paid for floor cleaning and have had the run of the mill work done. This is a reliable machine and works better than a professional that just agitates the dirt rather than sucking it out. It also alleviates additional costs for spot cleaning when you do have your yearly done...which I still do. There are better machines that professionals use, but this is in my experience the best machine for a homeowner to use.

The Cons...A little Large and heavy...
-A little messy when emptying the dirty water container...I highly recommend wearing a rubber or latex glove of some sort.
-A little bulky to get around, especially up the stairs.
-The smell from the recommended cleaner gets old fast. I have personally opted to try ZEP commercial cleaner in it instead and had no problems. However, this is not recommended by the manufacturer.
