Love this cleaner!
I had to replace my poor badly treated and beat up Panasonic vacuum cleaner. It wasn't quite dead but it was going. So I bought this vacuum. Within 2 weeks it blew up and I returned it to the store. I have 6 dogs, 2 cats, 3 parrots and live in the middle of a mudslide with sand on top.

Nice , reliable vacuum!

Good choice
I bought the vacuum in 2000 at Sears for about $160 - $170. It's been put to plenty of use and perhaps some abuse - sucking up more than its share of dog hair, actually two dogs. NOT for the long run!
It was great when I FIRST got it. It was lightweight, had attachments, bagless, easy to empty and a long cord. Within 6 months, the quality GREATLY deteriorated. Example: You're running over the same dang piece of fuzz 5 times. I have two small children, and two cats, so I vacuum at least once... Read full review »
Not for hard floors
The Bissell CleanView has an easy to empty container, and is very easy to clean out clogs in the hose. However, it works lousy on hard surfaces (wood, tile, laminate floors). It sucks well. But it also blows. And it stinks.
Major pro: it sucks up the dirt really well.
Major cons: 1. It blows it right back out if you don't empty the dirt canister and clean its three filters regularly.
2. It has a tendency to burn up its drive belt when you use attachments. I've gone through two already.
