The Bottom Line:
This bagless vacuum has the power of the big boys for under a $100.
As a young boy I couldn't wait for summer vacations where I could sit in front of the television and watch my favorite shows all day long. Like any kid I was influenced by many of the shows I watched. Unfortunately I soon noticed there was a large amount of sexism taking place in the television industry, which made a huge impact on my life. During those years there were three shows I watched religiously, The Jetsons, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Brady Bunch. These shows portrayed elements of real life situations that I could model my life after. Within these shows three specific characters held a special place in my heart. Rosie, Aunt Bee, and Alice were all women who cleaned, cooked, and took care of the day-to-day chores for each respective family. These women were housekeepers, maids, and cooks all wrapped into one. They were the glue that held each family together.
Even though I looked up to these "ladies of the mop" there was a constant uneasiness in my heart about their role in television. I would lay awake at night wondering to myself why there wasn't a male housekeeper, maid, or cook that could be my TV roll model. One day as I was flipping through the channels I stumbled across a television show that would change my life forever, that show was Who's The Boss. Finally there was a male housekeeper I could look up to. Tony was that knight in a pressed apron that I had been searching for. Soon another television show made its way into my life with an inspiring male housekeeper. Mr. Belvedere was a show that gave hope to all old male British housekeepers out there, a true visionary in his field. Finally, not to be out done, there was Geoffrey the butler for the Banks on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. These three men revolutionized the roll of the male housekeeper and finally brought some peace to a young boys heart.
Just thinking about these three men brings a tear to my eye. I often wonder where my life would be if my parents hadn't bought the cable that exposed me to these great shows. One day while shopping at my local Walmart I needed to make a very important purchase that would play a critical role in my life. As I made my way down the aisle, I searched deep inside myself to bring out the power of Tony, Mr. Belvedere, and Geoffrey. I had waited for this day my entire life and finally there it was standing right before me. It seemed like the angels in heaven began to sing as I picked up the Bissell CleanView Bagless Vacuum, finally the vacuum was mine.
Features
Bagless Technology
There is no reason for anyone to still be using a vacuum that uses bags. This technology has come a long way. About five years ago my dad bought a bagless vacuum for over $200 now you can find them for under $100. The bagless container on the Bissell is fool proof. I looked at over twenty vacuums on display at various stores before I settled on the Bissell and most of the containers were oversized and difficult to remove. The container on the Bissell is the size of a large bowl, which makes it very easy to clean. It is even small enough to put in the dishwasher if need be. The large containers on most vacuums are bulky and hard to clean and remove.
3 Stage Filtration
Basically this means there are three filters located at different points on the vacuum. I really don't know how well they work, but they start off clean and end up dirty. I figure the filters must do some good, but every vacuum company says their filters are the best. I can tell that less dust particles are released into the air compared to the old vacuum I used to have. Each filter is easily removable to clean or replace.
On-Board Tools
The vacuum comes with three tools that are stored on the back. There is a dusting brush, a crevice tool, and an extension wand. I have used these tools sparingly but the times I have used them they have come in handy. I use the crevice tool a lot to vacuum up around the fireplace.
7 Height Adjustments
These height adjustments allow for perfect vacuuming on any surface. The instructions say to use the lowest setting for bare floors, the medium settings for short and medium pile carpets, and the highest setting for plush pile carpet.
Headlight
I have never understood what a headlight on a vacuum is for but I guess you can now vacuum in the dark. Light some candles; dim the lights, and now you are ready to vacuum.
My Experience
Ever since I bought this vacuum I can't stop using it. Vacuuming is no longer a chore it is a leisure activity. The easy to remove dirt container makes cleaning up a snap. I no longer have to fuss with removing the bag and having dirt fly everywhere. The vacuum is a lot less heavy than the one I used to have. It makes it easy to carry with one hand. The absolute best part of the vacuum is the price. I got mine on sale for $85.00. If you are looking for a handy vacuum at a reasonable price don't pass up on the Bissell CleanView Bagless Vacuum.
