Great for vacuuming the cat

No retractable cord, but I'm spoiled from my Electrolux.

Review
When our ancient Electrolux finally went to the great vacuum heaven in the sky we decided we had to have a new one ASAP, after I carefully studied every vacuum cleaner on the market. After narrowing our selection down to a few dozen, I finally chose the Bissell Cleanview Bagless Upright Vacuum because it was at Walmart for $87 and had lots of great reviews. Also my husband was about to have a fit if I did not make up my mind. He even threatened to buy the first Dirt Devil he laid hands on despite the bad reviews (gasp!).
The vacuum is a basic model with features such as :
Quick Wrap Cord Release - Which is really 2 prongs that you wrap the cord around. One prong just swivels to do the quick release. The cord is 25 feet long.
3 Stage Filtration - The filters are washable and easy to replace. You can purchase them from Bissell's website and you can possibly find them around town if you live in a major city.
Lightweight - This vacuum is very lightweight, which is important if you have stairs. After lugging around the Eletrolux this vacuum was a breeze. I actually like to vacuum now!
7 Height Adjustments - The dial on the front of the vacuum allows you to lower or raise the vacuum depending on what type of carpet or flooring you have. You can go from from wood floors to high pile carpet.
Attachments and tools - There are several extra tools including a crevice tool, extension hose and dusting brush. I love the brush. I attach that to the hose and brush one of my cats with it. She thinks it is a major treat. The hose sucks up the hair, but the bush prevents her skin from making contact with the hose and scaring her.
Bagless - There is a large clear dirt container on the front of the vacuum and you can see when it becomes full. Then you just slide the lever and it unlock the cannister. The cannister slides so you can dump out the dirt and pop it back in.
Headlight - My Eletrolux was a canister and did not have one. I find it to be pretty cool.
Overall I was SHOCKED to find how much dirt and lint my old vacuum left behind after I vacuumed with my Bissell for the first time. Even now I find it hard to believe how much this vacuum picks up every time I vacuum. Uww! that was in my carpet? Thank goodness I broke down and bought the Bissell. I should have done this YEARS ago.
