The Bottom Line:
If you expect your vacuum to clean, do not buy this vacuum as it has no suction.
The only positive thing I can say about this vacuum is that it has inspired me to become an Epinions member. I bought the Bissell because I wanted a vacuum that was bagless and relatively inexpensive. I was replacing a comparably- priced Hoover bagged-model vacuum that had been involved in a sock-in-the-motor accident, and was happy to get a 12.0 amp bagless model for $79.99. Upon assembly (and before use), I was pleased with the lightweight maneuverability of the Bissell. Then I turned it on. Still impressed with its deft handling around corners and hallways, I failed to notice that it was not picking up anything along the way. After a few uses and spending considerable time going over areas just vacuumed, I considered that I was accustomed to my stronger Hoover (although that too was a 12.0 amp vacuum). However, today, after having to hold the attachment hose steadily in front of each individual pine needle under my Christmas tree, coaxing each one into the attachment hose, reduced to tears, I realized that I would have had better outcomes and expend less energy if I had sucked the pine needles through a straw myself. I will be returning this vacuum today.
