The Bottom Line:
This is a great vacuum for the price and will save a lot of money on the extras like bags and filters.
We have 3 cats, a dog and 2 children at home (one is a newborn) and needed something that really worked since our old upright wasn't getting the job done anymore and was costing a lot in bag and filter replacement. After working with a vacuum company (air cleaning system) I learned about what is important to us and what makes a good vacuum. The biggest thing I learned is that when using bags you would need to replace them all the time since the suction power decreases as soon as the pores of the bags are filled with dust. So going bagless is a great cheap way to keep the vacuum functioning at it's best. I empty it often and can suck up a lot more hair that I was not getting before. I'm so excited about this vacuum that I'm using it every day and each day it still fills up the tank...that's how much is ground into the carpet. I am feeling better about the kids playing on the floor, and the filtration system is keeping the air cleaner.
The hose detaches easily to clean edges. I haven't used many of the on board tools but they are handy when needed. The cord is longer than our old vacuum and allows me to clean more rooms without unplugging. The cord is easy to unwind and has a clip by the hose to keep it from getting under the vacuum all the time. The 3 filters are easy to access and are all washable (again a big money saver) but can be replaced if needed. The canister is fast and easy to remove and clean.
The only problem I've had is using the vacuum on the stairs, since ours are narrow, but I had that problem with our old upright too.
All in all a good machine especially for the price!
