Great deal, great performance.
Pros
Power. Bagless. Washable Filters. Rubber hose (no plastic!). Looks good too!
Cons
Awkard power switch. Small canister. Brush doesn't stop turning with hose attachment engaged.

Power and low cost of ownership make this an easy buy.
Bought from Best Buy on sale. Compared to other models in same category the Bissell seemed better constructed. Some models I lifted off the shelf were extremely heavy. Others fell apart as I tried to remove their "bagless" canister systems. The Bissell didn't feel cheap and looked sharp.
Initial test on short length carpet was almost embarassing. It pulled up so much lint and dirt it was gross. However, I did notice that the new clearview canister can be misleading. It is a smaller container than a traditional bag, so it fills up faster, making you feel like it is pulling up more dirt. Not a real problem, just something to consider. Maybe the best part is that all the filters are reuseable. I have washed them and replaced them and they work great. No expensive paper HEPA filters to replace every month!
Performance on rugs, longer carpet, and through the attachment hose was similiar. This is a very strong vacuum!
Like others have said. I do not appreciate the position of the on/off switch. Also, the hose attachment does not turn off the main brush when removed. So be careful when you use the hose to clean the couch or whatever because the vacuum will keep on sucking and the brush will keep on turning. This can wear on the piece of carpet that the vacuum is placed on while you are using the hose. It may be best to tilt the vacuum back a bit while using the hose so the brush doesn't make contact with anything.
Similiar models can be found for less from Bissell if you give up the metallic finish.
