Pros Cleans carpet stains better than our Hoover.
Cons Fills up quickly, a hassle to empty, Non-serviceable. Noisy.
Recommended it? Yes

Weve had the Proheat 2x for over 2 years.  It has a common problem which is a failure of the spray function.  At the first occurrence we had it professionally repaired at almost the same cost to buy a new one.  Then the problem recurred.  First we went through all the unclogging... I bought this deep cleaning Bissell about 3 years ago. My sister borrowed it from short thereafter. She wanted to shampoo her home, and car. She had finished vacuuming her home, then started on her car. She was inside, refilling the water tank, when her husband came home, and drove... Pros Easy to Use, Effective
Cons drips dirty water

I bought this since I have kids, light colored carpet, and a limited budget. This allows me to clean the carpets myself and does a decent job. I have to refill the solution often and it does occasionally drip dirty water or leave dark colored fuzz on the cleaned carpets. This is easily picked up or... Read full review »

I had borrowed my sister's Bissell 9400 ProHeat Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum a couple of times and finally decided that I needed one of my own.  It clean great!!!  My carpets take a lot of abuse from a teenage daughter that loves to experiment with make-up and spills quite a bit of it on the... Pros quiet<br>
Cons Not dependable to meet my carpet cleaning needs because of the way it is built.

When my old Hoover carpet cleaner no longer did the job, I researched others and decided upon the Bissell. It was the most expensive and seemd to be good quality. BUT...it may be fine for cleaning a flat carpet that has no loose fibers in it, but I have a dining room carpet that is full of fibers... Read full review »

I have a one bedroom condo, 2 very furry cats and a big dog. My pets make mess on everyday basis. Cat hair all over the couches. They puke on the floor a couple of times a week at least. I've owned the Bissell for 3 years.  Every time I use it I mentally compose an Epinion review.  Finally, here goes:

When I first got it I was enthusiastic about cleaning large rug areas, especially in the den and the office.  However, it became immediately obvious (on a dirty rug) that the... Read full review »

When my husband and I bought our new house. The lady that previously owned it had an untrained dog that peed everywhere on the 3-level carpeted home. I brought in professional cleaners. When they left after several hours of trying to get the stains out, I was very dissatisfied with how it still... Read full review »

I purchased my Bissell 9400 reconditioned. After three uses it had to go to the shop for repair. I brought it home and used it two more times, now the water is leaking out of the bottom of the machine and needs repair again. It did a pretty good job the little time that it did actually work.

Best Bissell Yet

Pros Does excellent job on carpets, powerscrubber brush worth the extra money, improved design.
Cons Water tank too small, no water flow indicator.

I upgraded to this unit from a Bissell Powersteamer that had died after 3 years of use. We settled on this unit because it offered a nice balance of features vs. cost. I thought the extra spray nozzle on the Powershot was a nice feature, but I couldn't justify an extra $70 for it. Anyways, it had... Read full review »

Buy a professional one instead!

bywendysue1970 May 26, 2008

Pros Gave the illusion of clean (at least at first).
Cons My Rug Doctor did the job that Bissell couldn't do!!

I've owned this one and many other store bought carpet cleaners. At first they seem to work okay, then the carpets slowly get worse! I finally caved in and bought a Mighty Pro Rug Doctor! It costed me over 700. but I've already spent more than that on all the other ones! To make up for the cost I... Read full review »

I recently acquired a new puppy. She is the best, but living in an apartment, the carpeting is beige and very cheap. My housebreaking efforts showed some of the failures, so I had the carpets steam cleaned. The stains came back within a week, even though the dog is now housebroken. I borrowed a... Pros For the price, this Bissell is good for homes.
Cons This model, but like all models in its price range, is heavy and loud.

I have a small shih-tzu puppy and for the first time, I needed a wet vacuum to clean up after him. On top of the new puppy, I spoil him and it took him some time to get housebroken.

So when it came time to buy a wet vacuum, I wanted to buy a rather strong one but not something too... Read full review »

This is the 2nd one I've had. The first one worked okay for a couple of times, but then would not suck up the water. Took it back to Wal-Mart. The replacement unit sucked up the dirty water, but then the spray started to operate intermittantly. It's extremely frustrating to be part-way into... Read full review »

I bought this product to keep the few carpets we have clean free of animal smells. I've used it on small carpets, wall to wall carpets and oddly, on the pool table felt. The machine cleans very well, but leaves the carpet a bit too damp.

I have cleaned carpets professionally for over 25 years. Truck mounts, portables, etc. so I know a little about the equipment used.
