What an AMAZING vacuum...don't let the word "pet" vacuum scare non-pet owners!
Pros
Excellent suction, cleans floors thoroughly, great for kids or pets, lift off canister for stairs.
Cons
A bit heavy to manipulate.

Yes
The Bottom Line:
I can't live without this vacuum and if you're in the market for a new one...this would be a great one to try without paying the $500 Dyson prices.
We went on the hunt for a new vacuum. I bought my last vacuum less than 2 years ago but it already was kaput and every 2 weeks I was taking it apart to figure out what was wrong with it. It never worked that great in the first place and it was a Dirt Devil. We've also had Eurekas, Hoovers and you name it. I usually like to spend under $100 for vacuums and that's probably why! So this time, I wanted to spend up to $200 and see if that made a difference...and it did!
I'm so glad I bought this vacuum, it's like the vacuum of all vacuums in my opinion. I only have 1 cat and wasn't really looking for a pet vacuum (since she really doesn't leave any hair, or so I thought). I went to my local Fred Meyer store and they were having a vacuum sale right when I needed one. In fact mine went kaput and hadn't been vacuumed in about a week and a half and I was going crazy, I had to go home with a vacuum. Well because of their vacuum sale, they were out of all the vacuums I wanted. But there were plenty of these "pet" vacuums. I wondered why, I mean was it a bad vacuum? I think I know why...I think the word Pet vacuum for non pet owners or owners with pets who have barely any hair don't need the vacuum. But maybe they should rename it because it's an awesome vacuum for ANYONE with or WITHOUT a pet!
We paid $179, but they were having a promotion that we would get a $25 giftcard back for the store if we spend over $150 on a vacuum. The price used to be daunting to me, but with my experience with cruddy vacuums, this wasn't too bad. It was actually also about $20 off the normal price.
I liked a few features on it, it was 12 amps, and had plenty of power. It was also bagless, which saves us money in the long run. You just click the switch to the side by the bagless area and take out the container and dump it. It is a bit small, so expect to empty it out after 2 rooms. That may bug people, but it does not bug me at all! I don't have to deal with putting bags in and seeing if the bag puffs up and checking the bag if it fits right and buying bags, etc. I'll empty every time I vacuum, no problem! It takes like half a minute. My 3 year old son loves to do it for me...it's that simple!!! He can help.
The "Lift Off" part (the full name of this vacuum is called the Bissell Lift-Off Revolution Pet Bagless Upright Vacuum) makes no sense until you get it home and then it's like "ooooh, I get it". You can take the cansiter out with just one button push with your finger and the canister with hose will lift right out. It makes it super lightweight and small. I use this to do the stairs. It's an AMAZING feature. It's easy to do and I do the stairs now without getting upset or frustrated. I get the stairs done quickly and I have 2 sets of stairs. I don't mind doing them now! It gets a little hot in the back (but what vacuum doesn't). When done, it clicks right back into place.
Then you have two switches, you push a button to turn it on (in the front on the canister) and push the other button on for the "brush rotation" part. I keep this on at all times because it does an amazing job. I'm not sure when you would turn it off except maybe on hard floors. The brush has a safety feature and when the vacuum is put in the upright position (and not leaning back) it will turn off. This is so you won't hurt the carpet by leaving it on for too long or yourself if you were to flip it over and get something caught out of it. Awesome safety feature.
It's middle of the road to manuever, a bit heavy, but I can live with that. I notice it has AMAZING suction power, so that it gets in the corners by the wall pretty well without even having to take the hose off. But I do just pull the hose out and use the attachments to get hard to reach places. It has 4 attachments, two are the extended pipe/rods, one is a skinnier version and the last is an upholstry brush. I love the attachments, the all have a place to store on the vacuum.
I've never experienced so much suction in a vacuum plus the brush power in one machine. I did my carpets and they didn't even look dirty, yet the first time I did it, one room made the canister fill up with dirty and cat hair and made my carpets like brand new. It almost looks like I got a carpet cleaning. I never even knew all that stuff was hiding in my carpets! I notice because of this amazing power it has is that I vacuum a lot less. It used to be like every other day now it's like once or twice a week and that's because it keeps the floors clean and really gets everything up. Fuzzies, cat hair, dirt and things you didn't know were there.
If this dies out in a couple of years, I would still buy another one, it is sooo worth it to me for how well it does. I guess I never knew what I was missing out on until I got this, now I'll never go back to what I had.
You can order from Amazon.com for $169.99.
