*updated 12-29-04*After reading many reviews here to find the perfect new vacuum cleaner, I had decided on a different model than what I have purchased. Problem was, I went to the store and they didn't have it. Some things just happen for a reason I guess because this has been one of my favorite purchases.

While at walmart and browsing the numerous vacuums, I decided on the Bagless Power Trak by Bissell. I must admit for a vacuum it's fairly attractive. Granted there were others that caught my eye first but after playing with them in the store and finding alot of those had parts that werent easy to maneuver, I went with this brand/model.

So let's get on with the review shall we?

First the features..

14.75" cleaning path - Wider than some of the vacuums on the market, this had a nice wide path to shorten my sweeping time, less work always gets a thumbs up from me.

12 amps of sucking power- pretty typical of vacs you find on the shelf. My old sweeper stopped leaving brush marks on the carpet, this does a great job at sucking up dirt you can't see.

wire-reinforced, stretch hose - who needs a hose that won't go where you want it to go? This was more than sufficient for the jobs it would be needed for. It's already connected, just lift the handle and get the dirt!

HEPA media pre-motor filter - this protects the motor from dirt particles. It is located in the slide out tray underneath the dirt container in the front of the machine. You simply clean it off when it gets dirty.

post-motor filter- this assists in the filtration process to return clean air to the room. It's located behind the door on the side of the cleaner. If it has the white filter it is not cleanable and will need replaced. The washable filters can be washed with mild detergent and cold water and air dried.

wide-beam headlight- better than average light. I found this to really be bright and not just aim light in a small area, it seemed to light up a bigger area than what I'm accustomed to, shining up on the wall even.

soft bumper around brush area - more protection for things you tend to bump into while sweeping.

seven height adjustments including bare floors- knob is located on the front under the headlight, turns with ease even in the sweeping position. I did not have to return it to upright to adjust the levels..big plus.

dual edge cleaning- sorry, I'm not certain what this feature is or does.

easy empty dirt container- can't get any easier than this. There is a lever you turn to unlock, container slips out and you simply dump the dirt. In my opinion this needs to be a bigger container, but serves it's purpose.

30 foot power cord with quick release- plenty of room to not worry about jerking the cord out of the socket. If I only had a dollar for every time I've done that. The quick release feature is nice, the top holder drops down, allowing your cord to be instantly free.

cleaning accessories crevice tool, dusting brush, extension wand - all attach nicely to the back of the vacuum and are secure enough that you don't constantly knock them off.

Clean Filter Indicator- on select models only. This feature will let you know when the airflow in the vacuum is reduced due to dirty filters or a clog in the hose. When it turns red, it's time to change the filter or check for clogs.

Summary
When I first saw this model I wasn't entirely sure I would like the bagless feature, I have come to LOVE it! I am amazed how much dirt I find in it after only doing one room. To me it gives me a better sense of value with this product because you can actually see what you have accomplished with it. I would of never guessed this much dirt settles down in my carpet. This model definately has more power than my retired Kenmore!

Another feature I like is the wand has a handle on it. The hose is all ready to go by simply removing the wand! My old model you had to stop and plug the hose/wand into the vacuum to use it, this is already to go once you remove the handle from the side of the machine. Very nice!

As far as being quiet, I feel it is fairly quiet compared to what I'm used to. It operates almost effortlessly, being large enough for the job but not too heavy to move around.

The belt is easy to change as is the lightbulb for the headlight.

I noticed walmart does occasionally have the replacement filters which run about $19. If not available you can get them by calling 800-237-7691 or going to the website www.bissell.com

This product has a one year limited warranty

*updated info*
I have used the power brush attachment a few times recently. Both times instead of sucking the dirt into the dirt container, it pulled it into the filter area and clogged it something awful! I don't know why this is, I can use the other attachments with no problems but if you hook this one up there is a horrible mess to clean.
