Great suction, bit heavy and unstable, nice attachments
Pros
strong suction, nice attachments, well-placed buttons and dials
Cons
heavy, easily topples when using hose
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I'd recommend this vacuum for people who care about their air-quality, need strong suction, and don't mind weight or a bit of awkwardness as long as the job gets done.
This vacuum was a wedding present which we were very glad to receive. It has great suction, on both bare floors and thick pile rugs. We have a wool rug that other vacuums always struggle with - very easy for the Bissel.
The attachments are great, except for the mini turbo brush. It is placed awkwardly on the front of the machine and is hard to "click in" and so often falls out. It is also very loud to use. The other attachments work very well, and the hose is easy to attach and unattach. However, be careful when using attachments, as when pulling on the hose the machine easily topples backward. It is sturdy, and so has not broken anything when falling backwards, but it is a heavy machine and could hurt you if it hit you.
The vacuum is quite heavy, so I wouldn't recommend it for older people, or people who may struggle with the machine. I am glad I live on a one-floor home so I don't have to carry this up the stairs.
The buttons and knobs are very well placed and designed. The power button is right on the handle, and next to it is the on/off for the roller brush, which is great when switching between flooring. The dial to adjust height for different flooring is very easy to turn and read. The cord is quite long and allows you to move between several rooms before unplugging.
Overall though, because of its performance, I have little to complain about with this vacuum.
