The Bottom Line:
For the price, I can say this vacuum is reasonably priced but the performance is nothing special
I bought this vacuum after my 5 year old Kenmore began leaving as much pet hair on the floor as it picked up.
I have 2 dogs - the first is a basset hound with medium length brown and white hair and a black lab. During the winter it only takes about 1/2 an hour for the dogs to cover the living room in hair. Since my carpet is very light colored, the hair is extremely noticeable.
I simply did not have the money to spend on a premium vacuum so I thought I'd give the Bissell 37602 a try.
The instillation was simple and quick. This vacuum has very good suction. The lift off feature makes this a very versatile vacuum.
The first uses:
I noticed right away that the vacuum was considerably heavier than what I was accustomed to. The suction seemed very powerful right away. I filled the collection canister with hair in about two minutes. If you fail to notice the canister is full, the top filter area fills up with hair and dust and you begin to lose suction. To do my living room and dining room I had to empty the canister four times during the first use.
The emptying of the canister is a messy process. If the filter area is clogged, you make an even bigger mess clearing it out. I ended up needing to vacuum the vacuum and the floor where I emptied the canister.
The turbo brush feature has been the biggest disappointment. The first time I used it, it worked perfectly on furniture to remove dog hair. After 5 uses it won't even spin the brush anymore. I'm not sure if it is clogged inside but I'm somewhat unhappy that it has failed already. I also feel that the vacuum hose is too short.
