The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this vacuum, its easy to do stairs and a must for pet owners.
Two years ago our vacuum died so I was in search of one that would make my life easier. I did a lot of research and started looking around and landed at Target. I needed one under $200 that would clean everything. I found this one and couldn't be happier. This is a fantastic vacuum if you have pets and/or stairs. For stairs the whole canister comes off and you can carry it with you, using the hose and attachments, so I do stairs a lot more frequently now. It is easy to snap on and off. For pets it has a brush on there that is like a magnet that lifts the fur away, it's called the Pet Turbo brush and it hooks to the hose, great for couches and other furniture, I even use it on the stairs. The con is it does get clogged easily but after reading the instructions it is easy to remove.
Now the vacuum part, I could not be happier. It has a bare floor setting which is fantastic, makes cleaning the kitchen a lot easier. It also has a switch to turn off the roller so you can do rugs, very very handy. We have older carpet so I use the lowest setting, but there are 7 height adjustments. The canister is see through so you are able tell what dirt you are getting and if it is getting full.
Now for the canister and filters. The canister has 3 compartments. The main compartment but then there are 2 small side compartments on it that catch the dust, which is great because the middle compartment gets over-consumed with pet hair and other stuff, which I like. There is a filter up in the top that pulls down and is easy to clean and so are the other 2 filters on the side, which are plastic. You will know when you have to clean them (I rinse them off in the sink)when the filter indicator in the front turns red and so far it has been pretty accurate. All you have to do is take them out and rinse all the dirt off, let completely dry and put back in the vacuum. The only filter that is not cleanable is the hepa filter and after 2 years ours is still going strong, but it suggest to change it every year.
It is a little heavy but I don't mind because I'm not having to lug it anywhere.
