Dust Problems
Pros
Very versatile.
Cons
Lets fine dust escape around the HEPA filter. Hard to clean dust cup and filter.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
My estimate of ease of use and ease of cleaning pertain to the design of the dust cup and filters.
I bought this vacuum because the price was much less than the Dyson I probably should have bought. The lift off feature works quite well for vacuuming the car and above floor areas.
The lift off unit will fall over unless it is supported.
The biggest problem is what the machine does with the dust. If you pick up dust with the consistency of talcum powder, it will escape around the HEPA filter because the filter does not fit tightly enough in its housing. When the dust cup is partially full of that same type of dust, (such as the dust from a mattress), it will spill all over the base of the machine, and the foam filter will be impossible to remove for cleaning without getting the dust everywhere. You will need another vacuum to clean up the inside of the dust cup housing. I will not want to vacuum my mattress or any other item which may fill the dust cup with a fine powder and escape into the air around the HEPA filter with this machine. If a vacuum is advertised as having a HEPA filter, it should, in my opinion, be sealed so fine dust can't escape, and the emptying of the dust cup should not be so difficult to keep the dust from flying everywhere. The Dyson seems to be far better in this regard.
