Don't waste your money on this!

The Bottom Line:
My final recommendation would be to avoid purchasing this product.
Purchased about a year ago, at first I loved this vacuum cleaner. I have 2 cats and it did a fabulous job of picking up pet hair. I very nearly bought one for my sister and I raved about it to friends.
However, the honeymoon was short-lived.
Unfortunately, after I'd used it maybe 20 times in my 700 sq ft apartment, the motor started smelling like it was burning out. I've seen other comments about this problem on this website, so apparently it's not uncommon. The motor does run really hot right out of the box. I contacted Bissell customer service online and they basically sent me instructions on how to repair the motor!!! Zero concern for having a satisfied customer. Now the pet turbo brush is also failing (after maybe 10 uses).
As I told Bissell, since their customer service is anything BUT, I will use this dreadfully inferior product until it dies (which probably won't take long) and then buy another cheap-o Hoover, like the one I've used for 20 years with NO problems whatsoever. I'm so grateful I didn't put the old bottom-of-the-line Hoover out on the curb before I realized I had bought an expensive lemon!
Also, this Bissell is extremely high maintenance. Cleaning the filters after every use is a major project in itself and it must be done for the vacuum to work at all.
Do yourself a favor . . . buy pretty much anything else!
