Bissell 3760-1 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

This vacuum is amazing! We got it because our old one broke, and now we are sorry that we didn't get it sooner. The setup couldn't have been easier. The only thing that I would advise is to have a screwdriver handy before you start the setup, as the handle needs to be firmly attached to the rest of the vacuum. The removable part works well and stays on when you want it to. The main vacuum motor and dirt container along with the hose for cleaning lifts off of the power brush base when you push the yellow button on top of the removable part. The power cord is only connected to the removable part, so it works well in whatever configuration you are using it in. All of the attachments, the power brush, and the small brush are attached to the part with the wheels that doesn't lift off. It is wonderful for carrying out to clean your car, or clean something on stairs. The small brush is air powered (there is a turbine inside that makes the brush spin when air is sucked into the vacuum) and it works especially well if you are cleaning your car (on the seats, floor mats, etc.). If you are carrying the vacuum anywhere the removable function is a life saver because the vacuum can be carried in two parts, each one about half of the weight of the total vacuum. The total vacuum in itself is not very heavy either, but it is still nice to be able to carry it if you have back problems, etc. Also, the main vacuum works better than most vacuums to clean carpet and wood floors, as well as tile. The ability to turn off the brush for wood floors is a life saver. I have been able to find relatively cheap replacement filters for both of the two filters that are included with the vacuum. The bottom line: You aren't sacrificing cleaning power for the ability to take the vacuum with you. A must have for any household.

Tip: I bought mine at Sears where it was on sale for a lot cheaper than listed here. Go price hunting for a sale; it's not that hard.
