A Good Way to Vacuum
Pros
Effective, powerful, versatile
Cons
Heavier than I'd like.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I'd buy it again. I think it was a good investment and is a very powerful vacuum.
I've had this vacuum for a little over a year. I've enjoyed it as much as anyone can enjoy a vacuum.
First off, it's blue...which may not sound like a big deal, but being a Target exclusive item I'm so thankful it's not red. It's claim to fame is it's ability to pick up pet hair....I HATE cat hair.
It comes with a collapsible extension, a narrow "nook & cranny" nozzle, a reversible brush/carpet attachment (not a fan of), and a "power brush" which is a mini-brush attachment (for the pet hair) that rotates from the suction of the vacuum. I was amazed at how fast the mini-brush rotated. You can actually feel the torque of it in your hand. But don't worry, there's a useful warning telling you not to place this attachment on pets...gee, thanks. It has many different height adjustments.
This vacuum (and many others) comes with a light. Why? Do people vacuum in the dark? If so, why? Plus it's hardly a light anyways. It's a nightlight bulb. You might as well vacuum with a candle...useless.
I've found that this vacuum has a lot of suction, I'd hope so as heavy as the thing is, and is very powerful. I'm amazed at how much stuff the vacuum always finds to pick up. I can vacuum the floor clean one day, turn around and vacuum the same room the next day and find more dust and hair. Not that it didn't pick it up the first time, it's just picking up a lot of new fresh dust.
One of the best features is the Lift Off function. Basically, you can easily remove, by push of a button, the motor/tank/hose section of the vacuum from the handle/frame/roller brush. In simple terms, you can make this vacuum work like a shop vac. Which is cool because I also own one of the mini Craftsman shop vac and I'd say it is just as strong if not STRONGER than the it.
I lent my dad my mini shop vac and needed to desperately vacuum our van. (Those stupid little blue berries from cedar trees were smeared into the tightly woven carpet.) Mini-brush attachment to the rescue. Man...it made lunch out of that job. Needless to say I've been vacuuming the cars with the Bissell ever since.
The brush is controllable with a switch so you can turn it off on hard floors. The brush is also automatically turned off when the vacuum is placed in its upright stationary position.
The brush/carpet attachment is of poor design. It's basically a triangle that you can connect to a hose. If you need to use the brush you rotate the brush/carpet nozzle until the suction is in the opening. Viceversa with the carpet nozzle. It's kind of hard to explain, and it's about as awkward to use.
