The Red Robot - Picks up pet hair!
Pros
Bagless, picks up pet hair, removable canister, beautiful red color, and price is right!
Cons
Small collector, no automatic retracting cord, cord set too low.

The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this to pet owners because it's very affordable and works wonders on pet hair. Not so painful if it breaks from over-using because of reasonable price.
I purchased this vacuum from Amazon.com for $179.99 and there was a special promotional coupon for $25 off the purchase. All together I paid $176.50 for it including shipping.
I bought this vacuum because we have a very furry shetland sheepdog who sheds constantly and leaves wads of fur all over the carpets and the fur collects on the baseboard crevices of our home. Our old canister vacuums worked wonders in our old 2 bedroom apartment while she was a puppy, but now that she actually has fur and we are in a house, it takes a lot of effort to vacuum the house in detail and canister vacuums don't have the right amount of suction power to pick up the furs embedded deep into the carpets.
I wanted to find a vacuum that was bagless and reduced allergens because my fiance is allergic to the fur our sheltie leaves around the house.
I gave this one a try after reading two reviews from people who had animals and said it actually worked on the pet hair. I have to say this is by far the best vacuum I have ever used. I have used quite a few including Eureka Whirlwind, Dirt Devil, Hoover commercial,Oreck, etc. The Eureka Whirlwind bagless was the most recent one I had which was a year ago, that one broke after 6 months. I bought this Bissell 3750 in January 2005 and it still has the suction power that it had when I first used it. It's really neat to watch the canister funnel up the fur it picks up and reminds me of the first time I saw how cotton candy was made when I was a kid. I have to empty 6 canisters just for my living room alone when I vacuum each time. I really wish that they would have made the collector bigger so I wouldn't have to empty it so many times when I vacuum, but overall it works and I can't complain much. I'm just happy to see that it's actually working and picking up the fur! I really love the removable canister because I can carry it around to vacuum edges and the ceiling with just one machine and it has a super stretchy hose that helps you reach those more distant places unlike other vacuums that have a short hose that causes you to tug on the vacuum making the vacuum fall over on its back. The cord holders are a good invention, the top holder can be turned so that the cord can be released in seconds (no more unwinding cords) and can be turned back when you wind the cord to hold the cord in place. Unfortunately, this vacuum doesn't come with an auto-retract cord otherwise I would say it's every person's dream vacuum.
The brush on/off switch is also a good feature so you can stop the brush from spinning when you want to switch to hardwood or floors. I find myself using this feature most when I vacuum bath rugs that usually gets sucked up into the rolling brushes of other vacuums.
I find that if you go over an area once, it picks up a bulk of the pet hair on the carpet, on the second its pretty much as clean as it gets, and the third...well from viewing the collector it's not picking anything else because it's already clean from the second time.
One thing that I truly hate about this vacuum is the location of the cord on the vacuum canister. It's at a very low height on the canister and when it falls off the notch that holds the cord on the vacuum handle, I'm tripping over the cord or worried that the vacuum will run over the cord and suck it up.
Overall, I am truly impressed with how easy it is to use this vacuum. If you think Dyson and Oreck are too far out of your price range and want to find a vacuum with comparable results (I've tried Oreck, but not Dyson), you should really give this vacuum a try for half the price.
