I'm amazed!! The dog hair is GONE!
Pros
Power, rolls smoothly, picked up my dog's hair, turbo brush attachment, quiet, lays flat
Cons
A bit heavy, hot air is exhausted through the back and onto your legs
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Works WONDERS if you have furry pets. Lift-off feature is useful and easy. A bit hefty, but rolls smoothly. Love the long cord and HEPA filter.
Well, I needed a vacuum badly. The amount of dog hair on the ground was literally killing my old vacuum (Eureka Boss from like '99 -- old and dying). I would go over and over again each spot and nope, the dog hair would be on the carpet still. I decided to go with this Bissell because of the reviews (I actually have the Revolution Turbo, but felt this was close enough to the 3750 -- mine is the 3760).
From beginning to end: I opened the box, pulled it out. PURDY. I attached the handle (two screws, flathead or phillips, easy). I attached the, well, attachments (mine came with the Turbo Brush). VERY long cord, love it. I have a small apt, I think I could vacuum the whole thing from one plug.
I was looking for a release to make the front go down. I pushed on it, nope. That's not it. Looked around, didn't see anything. Duh. Had to read the manual. It's in the back, I actually like the placement of it. Easy. It's weird that the power is on the cannister of the vacuum, however, I feel it's easy enough. My old vacuum, was on the front (foot pedal on the left side), I didn't like it.
First impression. Oh wow! It's VERY quiet! And then I pushed it. Yes, it's a bit weighty, but it glides over the carpet, so I don't notice the weight at all. Although, as mentioned in a previous review, because the cord is low, and on the right, it's a bit cumbersome, but I just wrapped it around the handle, and put it in my left hand (as i'm right-handed). Updated to add: I just found, on the bottom side of the handle, a hook to hold the cord.
Sucking power. WOW! I cleaned a 6'x6' spot, just to check it out. It picked up ALL the dog hair my old vacuum left behind. It also made my carpet look fluffy and new, and it even smelled good. I'm extremely impressed now.
It lies flat! I got to the coffee table, and well, I tried getting under there, and then said, I wonder how low this thing goes. Well, it lies pretty much horizontal. Granted, you can't go under LOW LOW areas, as the cannister is high, but under a coffee table, no problem.
Turbo Brush and Lift-off cannister. OH my, this was WONDERFUL!!! I used the brush, for my couch (lower parts have lots of hair stuck to it, thanks to my furry dog). Worked perfectly. And the cannister was light enough to carry around.
One down side. I noticed as I was vacuuming, and as I was getting hot and sweaty, that the air that exhausts from the vacuum, hits my right leg. Ugh. Talk about making an un-fun job harder to deal with.
I emptied the container about 10 times. It has nothing to do with size, but more the fact of how much dog hair it was picking up. I like that the cannister is washable and that one filter is washable. I was hoping the HEPA filter was washable, but no such luck. I saw it was $12 at the store for a replacement. Not too bad. Washing up was easy enough.
Overall, I think this is a great vacuum, with the typical attachments. I love the removeable cannister and the fact it can lie flat to go under things. If you get the one with the Turbo Brush, now that is a great attachment. I wanted a beltless, however, this belt looks like it's completely contained (away from the brushes, so fur and hair won't clog it up, burn it out, etc. However, I will update this, if that becomes a problem). Durability, well, I'm the type to run into things. The bumpers seemed to work, and it feels and seems sturdier than my old one, and my old one has been through a lot. I am hoping it will last me, at least, a few years.
