Good vacuum for pet hair
Pros
Easy to empty dirt chamber, turbo brush, telescoping wand, detachable canister
Cons
The long cord: it isn't self-winding (only thing I miss about my old cannister vacuum.)
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I recommend this vacuum: it does an excellent job, it's easy to maintain and it looks cool!!
I bought this vacuum after a week of research of various vacuums in various shops. I have now used it for 3 weeks.
Bissell, by far, has the easiest & least messy to empty bagless that I could find. It has a convenient separate switch to turn off the beater brush; so you can go from low carpet to bare floor without stopping. It has 3 filters: 2 are washable; the 3rd is the replaceable Hepa. The filters are easily accessible.
Pushing the vacuum is a bit on the heavy side; make sure you have it on the right height setting. I have found the lift-out feature very handy: we have carpet downstairs & on the stairs, but not on the upstairs-floor. The upright waits at the bottom of the stairs while I use the lift-out to vacuum the stairs. It's a vertical canister, so it fits on a stair as I balance it with one hand.
The version I bought came with the strap and turbo brush (not stored onboard on my model). The turbo brush is excellent on stairs & in small places. Take care when choosing where to buy this: we saw it for less elsewhere BUT it did NOT have all of the attachments (including the turbo brush). We also saw it for more in another shop: that one had a spot for the turbo brush onboard.
As written in the title, it does an excellent job on pet hair (2 dogs, 3 cats). The upholstery attachment did a thorough, but gentle, job on my (I thought impossible-to-clean) lampshades.
I'm very happy with this purchase.
