The Bottom Line:  Picks up EVERYTHING
What a purchase! Our previous vac bit the dust (or infact didn't hence the new purchase). Money was an issue - we didn't want to spend too much but had enough available to buy a decent enough vac without breaking the bank. I prefer and upright, hubby prefers a cylinder (though I would always win that arguement as it's me who does the majority of vacuuming in our house!!), this however gave us the best of both worlds - you never know, it might encourage him to do a little more :o)

The 1st impression was, well, WOW! a beast of a machine. Impressive and very much a boy toy appearance.

The upright facility has great suction and I have not had a problem with manoverability. The brushes are certainly powerful and having 3 of us with long hair and a moulting dog it is of great importance. At 1st it seemed to pull me around a little, similarly to a petrol lawn mower with gears. I then learned that this means the roller is set at the wrong height for the carpet. Get the height setting right for each carpet and this shouldn't be a problem and I imagine that replacement of the roller should be far less frequent. I've soon got used to which carpet needs which setting and with a flick of a switch I'm sorted for each room.

I tend to hoover all the rooms using the upright facility and then wizz round the edges and difficult to reach places with the cylinder part. I find the cannister very simple to remove, just press on a strip type button and out it comes. I've found it ideal for the stairs. The hose isn't long enough to reach from the bottom to the top of the stairs but I don't think it was intended for this purpose. The design of the cannister allows it to safely fit on each stair so that you can move it up as you go.

Tool wise, it's a pity that the stair brush doesn't fix to the actual vacuum. However, personally I only tend to use it on the stairs so I leave it at the bottom when I get the cleaner outand on it goes when it's time to make my way upstairs. I haven't yet managed to lose it :o)

You'll have a good buy should you purchase it.
The price I quoted wasn't quite correct. It cost me #110,not sure I converted the price to dollars very well.

It certainly isn't a vac made for a person who has a problem with lifting but as a young active family this hasn't been an issue. I really shouldn't fault the weight too much, it isn't a problem for me - it's really not THAT heavy.

All in all I am delighted my purchase and would recommend it, especially to those who need a vac with power. My previous vac actually had a higher wattage but didn't seem to have as much suction power nor hair collecting qualities.

Simple to empty too, very fortunate as it doesn't hold much but easily covers the whole house.

A brilliant buy.
