Another Vacuum? My battle continues...
Pros
Great suction. Great features that take care of dust and hair, and hopefully fleas.
Cons
None really that I can think of.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Whether you have pets or not this is a nice hand vacuum that will do the job it promises.
I spotted the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Corded Hand Vacuum at Kohls. The words pet-hair eraser is what caught my attention. So far I have several vacuums but figure this one might better do the job. The box stated that it features a contour nozzle which bends and flexes and that it is great for hair and dirt. (I'm thinking maybe also for fleas and flea eggs.)
I've tried it and it has a very strong suction. When I emptied it there wasn't much dust (probably because I'm always vacuuming with the other vacuums) but still the fact that it has a HEPA filter tells me I'm getting something out of the upholstery the others may have missed.
I have a small dog who doesn't shed a lot but there are a few fur hairs on the sofa nonetheless. Also this is such a powerful suction that I'm sure it also handles the dust mites that can accumulate on the furniture. I also plan to use it on the bedding. I have a hand vacuum that has a UV feature but it doesn't seem to really pick up the dust that well. I think this in conjunction with the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum should really do a good job in getting rid of everything and anything on my beds.
Features:
Includes two specially designed nozzles
HEPA Media Filter
16 ft power cord
Lightweight and compact
No charging necessary.
The long 16 foot cord allows flexibility so while vacuuming I don't mind the fact that it has a cord and it's not rechargeable. I have another hand vac that is and nothing is more frustrating than when it loses power because it needs to be charged again. I think I'd prefer the longer cord. The cord also has a cord wrap system in that there is a special velcro strap that holds it all together once it is wrapped.
The rubber contour nozzle is good for pulling out the dirt and the hair on stairs and upholstery. And the hard nozzle is good for picking up dry messes. I like the fact that I can really get into the fabric with the rubber contour nozzle and feel that I'm pulling the dirt out. Also, hopefully along with the dirt any fleas or flea eggs that have survived.
The power switch is convenienty located on the end of the curve of the handle. I found it quite easy to manipulate and control as I vacuumed.
There is a HEPA Media Filter which when I took the dirt container off was quite easy to take apart and clean.
I plan to use this one every day to keep on top of mites and flea eggs. I brush my dog every single day (several times) with a flea comb and I'm at the point where I'm lucky if I see one flea or flea egg on her. One is too many as far as I'm concerned.
The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Hand Vacuum is a plus for my continuing battle against any type of pests in my house along with the hair and dust.
