The Bottom Line:
Great product that offers an affordable way to deep clean all floor surface areas.
I purchased my Bissell Multi surface QuickSteamer because my two dog (and husband) were taking a wear on my carpets. I was also looking for an easier way to deep clean my ceramic tile that didn't require me scrubbing them on my hands and knees. After some researching I decided this was the machine for me to try. I considered some of the higher priced options, but didn't really feel I needed to spend another 300 dollars for something I wasn't even sure would work.
I purchased my machine at Linens and Things where it is regularly priced 99.99. I was able to use a 20% off coupon to get it for 79.98.
Once getting it home it was very easy to put together but not the "2 steps" the box advertised. It's more like 8 steps and you need a screwdriver on hand. The unit comes with sample sized formula for both carpet and hard surfaces so you don't have to buy that right away.
I decided to start with my kitchen and bathroom tile. You start by turning on the machine and pushing the trigger as you run the unit it a vacuuming motion. This releases the water/formula mixture. It was very easy to use and lightwieght which was nice. You then have to go over the same areas numerious times to suck all the water back up. After the area dried it appeared to be much cleaner than before.
Emptying the dirty water holder is not as fun. Pet hair and other items can get caught inside and take several fills/dumps to get out.
Next I moved onto my carpet. You do the same thing as you do on the tile but just use the fabric formula and it also showed immediate results. You do have to allow drying time though and for my first room it took about 6 hours before the floor was no longer damp.
Over all I love that this was cheap, easy to use and did a great job on all my floors.
The negatives I would list are the the dirty water starts to spill out before it reaches the full level. I started emptying it when it got 1/2 full instead of waiting. It would be nice to have an attachment to get in small spaces but that is something the higher priced items offer.
