Price to Performance, very good buy

Pros Inexpensive, lightweight, easy to use, easy to move, easy to store
Cons Not really steam, small water capacity, mixed solution, no agitating brush
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  For smaller jobs its a great cleaner. For a larger job I will get the Eureka Atlantis (2 gal capacity, seperate solution tank). I will keep this one around.
I recently borrowed a friends carpet cleaner, a Eureka Atlantis 2595A. I tried using it, and apparently they abused it and the water pump and agitator brush motors were bad, so to review other cleaners I went.

I found excellent reviews on the Bissell Quicksteamer Powerbrush, so I went out to Lowes (which was out of stock) and then to Target. They didnt have the powerbrush version, so I opted to buy this one instead, since it was only $70.
Removing it from the box was simple, there was 4 pieces. The base of the unit, the water tank which sets onto the base, the top portion which holds the handle, and the handle. It assembles very quickly using 3 phillips screws, one to hold the handle into the top portion, and 2 to hold the top portion to the base. It also came with a starter bottle of solution, enough for 250-500sq ft or so.

Despite the lack of rotating or agitating brushes, it does have a semi-stationary scrubber brush that rubs on the floor as you move the cleaner. It seems to work well, as the last cleaner I had which had no brush didnt work nearly as well.

The suction seems adequate for the amount of water/solution it puts on the floor, and does a good job of removing most of it. My floors were dry in about 2 hours.

Since my carpets were extremely high traffic areas (in front of couch, door, hallways) they were very soiled. I had to go over the same part several times, which I expected. The cleaner did a very good job of removing the soilage, but not perfect. Had I to get another one, I would definitely get the powerbrush version for $20 more, albeit harder to find.

I had MUCH better results when using the Bissell Tough Stain pretreatment on stains that were apparent on the carpet. Spray it on about 5 minutes before cleaning that area and the stains come out nicely.

Since I have a large amount of carpet to clean, I would have opted to use the model originally borrowed, because in contrast, this unit only has a 1/2 gallon water capacity. This water runs out quickly, so each tank (if you have to go over it several times like me) lasts for about 3ft x 4ft area (which conveniently, is a nice size to be able to reach and pattern across about any house.)

All in all, I am quite satisfied with this unit for smaller jobs, and I will definitely keep it around for minor cleanups *when they happen* since its easy to store and keep.

In regards to the cons:
1)It squirts hot water, not really steam. Doesnt make a big difference to me.
2)The small water capacity makes it impractical for larger jobs more then about 500sqft.
3)The solution is poured into the water tank before the water. You have to discard anything unused when finished, as you dont store it with the water. This isnt really a drawback in this unit since the tank is small, you dont waste much of the expensive solution.
4)There is no agitating brush. The fixed brush works well, but the agitating brush on the powerbrush model would probably work MUCH better.
