The Bottom Line:
Spring for the more durable model.
I have two cats and a family very prone to spilling food, drinks, etc. so I definitely had to get a wet vac. At first it was a wonderful alternative to scrubbing and blotting out carpet stains and got out most any simple stains that I could throw at it. Unfortunately it doesn't have a wand attachment for spot treatment or upholstery.
However, over time, even after only using it for spot cleaning on an occasional basis the machine became too gummed up with carpet fibers and the jets stopped working. I started pouring water directly onto the carpet and then using the scrubbers and suction but that must have gotten blocked up too because that soon broke too.
If you are going to use this or any machine like this I highly recommend that you take the time to use a regular vacuum before even if is for small areas.
For the price I paid it was definitely worth it to have a personal carpet cleaning machine as opposed to the cost of having to rent one from time to time but I think that I am going to spend the extra money and get a better model with more features.
