I rented Bicentennial Man because I thought it would be a good family movie for my family and I to watch. Well I was wrong.
Andrew (Williams) is an android that was created in 2005, with a glitch in his system that caused him to have actual human feelings. He was originally bought to be a type of house cleaner/butler to help the family. After these feelings were discovered, His owner "Sir" (Niell) started to teach him things that were not programmed in Andrew's system. He taught him about sex, and orgasms, and what happens during child birth. Don't get me wrong I personally as a adult do not mind such descriptions, but didn't care for my six year old to learn them as well.
As the movie went on and Andrew learned more about "life", he also learned to curse with feeling. True that today that is they way of life, and I can't shelter my son or daughter forever, but I'd like to until they are at least 13.
The acting in the movie was excellent, Williams always does a great job in my opinion. And the story of this android wanting freedom and feelings, and the struggles he went through to get them were very touching.
I wouldn't say don't watch this movie, because it was good. Just be careful who is watching with you.
