intriguing, but unconvincing look at the liberal media bias theory

Pros some excellent examples to help prove his point
Cons sometimes his focus shifts away from his point and onto himself
Recommended it? No

Bernard Goldberg worked for CBS News from 1972 to 2000. He wrote Bias because he perceived injustice in media news that he came across every day, but his book fails to prove undoubtedly that a liberal bias exists in media news. He provides too few concrete examples of liberal bias, and instead of... Read full review »

I bet Dan Rather wishes that he had read this book

Pros it's a great book about Bias
Cons Arrogance was better, also a bit to much venom at Rather
Recommended it? Yes

All right a few weeks ago I was watching Hannity and Colmens on the fox news network when the liberal strategists said that the media was tilted to the right. I said "on what planet was this bozo on", it doesn't take much listening to the nightly news cast to find out that the news cast are left... Read full review »

Pros An objective look at the bias in news reporting.
Cons None.
Recommended it? Yes

For years I have watched the network news programs and been amazed at the fact that they have changed from reporting the news to commenting on the news. While growing up in the sixties I remembered facts that were offered to viewers in stories from distinguished journalists. After Nixon and... Read full review »

Pros insights on the field of journalism and broadcast news
Cons highly self-involved, self-pitying, focuses too much on Dan Rather trash talk
Recommended it? Yes

Author and veteran journalist Bernard Goldberg of Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News, first launched an attack with his Wall Street Journal editorial on media in February of 1996. Bias is actually an extension of his column, though it elaborates on more of his arguments and... Read full review »

A telling book on the nature of mass media in the US

Pros Good substance and fact
Cons Need a sequel to the book
Recommended it? Yes

The two biggest revelation to me in the book are that bias is not perceived by the fourth estate simply because there is a lack of perception. If everyone is like yourself then there is no bias. If there is no perception of bias then the rest of the world is controversial not yourself.

Pros Exposes the Media's true goal: Money
Cons You find that the media can't be trusted if you didn't already know
Recommended it? Yes

A 28 year veteran of CBS news, Bernard Goldberg brings truth and reality, with a comedic but serious flare, about how the media is full of liberals, and how their personal views bleed into the news that is presented to viewers everyday. Bernard Goldberg exposed this liberal bias in the Wall Street... Read full review »
