The Bottom Line:
Bialetti has delivered what I wanted.
I got this over a month ago.
The first few cups of coffee you will make will suck but it gets better after the fifth one. The unit is easy to use. I have made coffee every day for over a month.
The seal has been fine. I don't know what the other people have been doing but there is no coffee leaking. I do make sure that its screwed on tight. Be careful that if you clean out the metal filter you put it back with the convex side directed towards the top of the unit. Sometimes if there is water on the threads it sputters as its boiling off, but that doesn't interfere with the brewing process.
Once you have poured your cup I recommend that you immediately soak the top unit with water so that the milk doesn't dry, otherwise its harder to clean. The coffee is consistent. I use quality espresso and quality milk. The cheaper milk tends to be a bit thin. I also use a little vanilla syrup with the cappuccino function. I am used to the lattes at the local coffee shop to be little frothy.
About a month ago the pressure valve stopped working properly so I just soaked in a jar of white distilled vinegar for a few hours and then rinsed it. Its been working fine since.
its been consistently good and as good as our local coffee shop which I like better than Starbucks.
I love that it doesn't take up counter space.
I don't like that the 2 cups are a wee bit small.
