The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this monitor if you need one quick and cannot wait for a sale of a named brand.
I recently purchased the BenQ G2000W at TigerDirect for 189.99. The monitor is a 20.1" widescreen flat panel display – TFT. The best thing about this product is the price. You get a decent large monitor at a relatively inexpensive cost.
Overall the monitor is easy to use and no different than setting up any other pc monitor. It has both a VGA port as well as a DVI-D port so you should be fine no matter what connections your computer has on the back of it.
I connected the monitor to a Dell Vostro XP machine in my office. The picture quality is good, and the brightness is acceptable, even in direct lighting. I have not done much too experience the refresh rate, as this monitor is used for Excel and Email mainly, and will not be used for gaming. The colors are good and deep, and definitely are better than a laptop monitor.
The monitor itself has a small foot-print for its size, due to a very small bezel, and a thin thickness.
The only thing I would like to see added is built in speakers, though it seams a lot of monitors are moving away from integrated speaker systems.
Although I prefer other higher end brands that are on sale (such as when Viewsonic liquidates a product line), but if you need a monitor now and don't have time to wait for a sale, this is the way to go.
