You need a cover for it as soon as you purchase it if you want it to last a long time. It's an investment in a way for a pricey purchase. What I loved about this was that it wasn't too expensive, it's clear so you keep the integrity and classy lines of the Apple product, and it provides solid protection if dropped while still providing the freedom to use the touch's screen as it was meant to be handled. The front is completely open, so you can touch all you want. I would buy again in a heartbeat.
