I have gone through two of these. The first one didn't work and the second managed to short out my KVM switch, keyboard, and external hard drive!
Do not use this in powered mode, if you have to use it.
Better to go for the Belkin 4 or 7 port (Model FU307 - WHT or BRN - this is the 7 port one) and save your peripherals.
Would not recommend this for any user.
