The Bottom Line:
Buy Call of Duty 4 instead.
Ok, I know that this game has been out for a long time but here's my opinion on it. This game brought me a lot of fun but in a very specific way.
Campaign
The one player experience is horrid. It has a hotswap system that is different and it allows you to switch between different allies. This campaign works but it just isn't fun at all. You can tell that they just decided to shove it in there because this is a console game.
Multiplayer
This is where Battlefield shines at its best. Like in all of the Battlefield games, the multiplayer gameplay is solid. There are a few problems such as the lobbies and the players. The lobbies just plain suck and there is no party system implemented. The problem with its 12 on 12 matches is that they are normally filled with a lot of little kids that are for the most part very annoying. The way I got enjoyment out of this game was by playing with my cousin and talking to him in private chat. As far as the maps go, I enjoyed some and some I absolutely hated. It's not very consistent but I'd say that about a third of the maps are good. For the most part they are too big and cater specifically to snipers. The vehicles are a nice feature that are easy but unintuitive to use. There's a minimal choice for weapons, so the vehicles play a major role.
Sound and Graphics
The sound works and is pretty good but not good enough. The graphics are ok by today's standards but they were good when it first came out.
All in all, there are better games out there
