How the game works:
Most of us have been fishing once or twice and we either fell in love with it or decided to take up a different leisure sport, like gaming for example. But what if I tell you there's a new way to fish, one way that doesn't involve getting your face sun-burned or losing half of your day while sitting on a muddy bank and looking at the other guy's stringer - just about exceeding his limit for the day? Well there is a new way to fish! It's called Bass Hunter 64 and it's a fishing simulation that dares to borrow on the wisdom of some of the great minds in the world of bass fishing. So select a fisherman ( 3 included ), choose your mode ( tournament or fish for fun ), pick a lure ( several options ), head to the lake ( you'll be in a boat ), select a casting style ( 3 ways to go ) and begin fishing you're heart out. If you want to get started right away, just fish with the defaults on.

Bass Hunter 64 works hard at delivering as much of the real thing as possible ( caution: this is by no means a substantial substitute for a day on the water ) and they've certainly accomplished their goal.

The featured highlights include: Ultra realistic fish behavior ( quality AI derived from the In-Fisherman's knowledgable staff ), In-game Pro assist system ( provides tips, tricks and strategy - works on real lakes too ), lure cam ( follows the action underwater ( you'll view yourself on the top half of the screen and the bottom half will be occupied by what the lure cam sees underwater), and the freedom to explore geographically accurate landscapes ( complete with shifting weather patterns ).

The two fishing modes provide enough range in the options department that seasoned bass pros and first timers will be able to fish at a level they're comfortable with. The environment, fish, boat and fisherman are nicely modeled and fairly realistic looking. The added bonus of manipulating weather conditions makes the same ol' fishing hole a little more interesting. The at-a-glance options interface works well and makes sense. This is one excellent 3D bass fishing simulation.

So if you never manage to actually catch that 10 pounder teasing your lure time after time, you'll still be able to spin the yarn about the BIG ONE that got away with your friends. Remarkably exciting and equally frustrating! Bass Hunter 64 is a reel catch !!!
