Pros Batter/Pitcher interface. General Manager options.
Cons Graphics aren't anything to get excited about
Recommended it? Yes

This is the newest installment of 3DO's High heat Baseball series. Since this series was introduced it has been the only baseball game worth having and this years release is no exception.

Graphics/Sound

The graphics in High Heat Baseball 2001 are almost unchanged from last year's... Read full review »

Best Baseball Game on Market

byJRTennis19 Jun 20, 2000
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Price, Graphics, Sound
Cons Nothing
Recommended it? Yes

This is simply one of the best, if not the best games out there. All the rosters are up to date with the 2000 baseball season and the graphics are mind blowing. All the new stadiums such as Enron(Home-Ron) Field, Pac Bell Park, and Comerica Park in Detroit are there and the other stadiums look very... Read full review »

High Heat Baseball the New Standard in PC Baseball Games

bykammerer Jun 1, 2000
3 Helpfuls 4 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros realism, gameplay, franchise mode
Cons slightly outdated graphics
Recommended it? Yes

After hearing how great high heat 2000 was I figured I should try high heat 2001. I was very impressed with the game, the graphics may be a tad outdated but the gameplay and realism of the game blows away any yet to be seen in a baseball game. I am also a big fan of the franchise mode which allows... Read full review »

Pros True to life. Great for Arcade & Sim
Cons No player salaries
Recommended it? Yes

I don't normally post reviews here (just read them for buying hints) but I made an exception in the case of High Heat 2001. I love this game. I bought the 2000 version last year and was so impressed by it I was actually playing baseball through football season. This years High Heat 2001 is even... Read full review »

Pros great animation. different modes of playing
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

My husband got this as a gift from his grandfather. Of course in my mind I was thinking GREAT!! Another one to add to the pile of PC games that he has gotten and only played once or twice.

I was very surprised not that he has had it for awhile and still plays it everyday. He really likes... Read full review »

High Heat 2001 is a grand slam!

Pros Is "best baseball game ever" good enough?
Cons Must use good 3d-accelerator card to get best performance.
Recommended it? Yes

EA Sports and Microsoft can take their eye-candy and retire them because they have nothing on 'Sammy Sosa' High Heat Baseball 2001 for the PC.

While the graphics of HH2001 may not be the best, they are very functional and do the job nicely. The real fun comes when you play this game. It... Read full review »

An Above Average Baseball Game for This Year!!!

bytherdour Apr 24, 2000
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros camera angles, playability
Cons too easy, lame AI
Recommended it? Yes

Overall, I have to say that this game is good. It isn't the greatest game I have ever played, but it is far from the worst. Overall, the playability is great, and some of the camera angles make this game worth the 50 bucks alone.

Unfortunately, the game is incredibly easy. I had never... Read full review »

The Baseball Game To Get

byawoolcott Apr 20, 2000
37 Helpfuls 38 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros In depth career mode, good graphics, cool pitching/hitting interface
Cons Lackluster play-by-play, had to do complete install or game would freeze
Recommended it? Yes

High Heat Baseball 2001 takes the success of the 2000 edition and created the best baseball game for PC, and actually any other platform as well. The deep season mode, create-a-player, and true-to-life realism, makes for the best way a baseball fan can kill time waiting in between the actual games... Read full review »
