Pros Graphics,
Cons nothing
Recommended it? Yes

Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 is really a great game. I got it a few years ago, and unlike the other things i got i still play it. In this game you can play one season or you can play ten seasons. You can make six player trades or as many as you want. Also you can change players hitting... Read full review »

not bad, not good

Pros Sammy Sosa is the man!
Cons not real good
Recommended it? Yes

I've played high heat a few times. I actually bought it a while back. It was hyped up quite a bit with Sammy doing those stupid commercials. I love Sammy but those commercials were ridiculous! Anyways, the game play is alright. There really isn't anything special about this game. I think Hardball 4... Read full review »

This Game Needs To Be Beat Down With An Ugly Stick!

bysportsvidgamer Jul 11, 2001
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Super marketing machine hype that has sold the kiddies
Cons The worst graphics in the history of PC games
Recommended it? No

For the life of me, I simply don't understand the appeal of this game series at all. If data nerds like all the stat numbers to add up in a baseball game, then I suggest they play with dice, pen and paper. Because the graphics in this game make players look like cyber scarecrows playing in a blurry... Read full review »

High Heat Now A Strike

byParisLemon Mar 21, 2001

Pros Best sports game ever, bar none.
Cons Some glitches, Sammy Sosa.
Recommended it? Yes

High Heat Baseball 2001 is by far and away the best baseball game ever. I just downloaded the demo of the new Triple Play 2002 (only called Triple Play Baseball now for some reason), and it was so horrible. Of course I've been spoiled, I've been playing High Heat 2001 since it's release last... Read full review »

Best baseball game for the computer to date

byCougarMN Jan 25, 2001
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Graphics, gameplay, realism, GREAT!
Cons Some parts arent realistic
Recommended it? Yes

The Good: The graphics are great-the stadiums are in nice detail. Good realism in most cases-real batting stances, physics and gameplay. Internet gameplay

The Bad: Some parts are kind of unrealistic.. when was the last time a guy dives, the ball hits him in the foot, and it's counted as a... Read full review »

Pros Gameplay, Online play, Many hours of playing
Cons announcer
Recommended it? Yes

Have you ever wanted to build a team up to be a world champion? Get a rookie of the year building him up to be an allstar.

In career it is great place to play alot of games to become a champion, one thing or many things i like about it is you can sign free agents, trade up to 6 players,... Read full review »

It's sooooooooo real!

byBDugan Dec 22, 2000
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros The perfect game
Cons Next version comes out soon
Recommended it? Yes

It is, as Sammy put it well in the summer's commercial, "soooo real!" I've played this game more than any other single game in the past seven months. The replay value remains the same. With over 40 stadiums, including all the current ones and ones from next season, you can slug it out for a season... Read full review »

High Heat 2001

Pros total control over your team.
Cons not enough player detail
Recommended it? Yes

If you're a die-hard baseball fan, then this is the game for you. HH2001 is the most realistic baseball game on the market. The first thing I did was simulate a whole season to see what kind of stats the players had. Guess what? The season ending stats were very close to their real life... Read full review »

Best game on the market

bynsorens Nov 26, 2000
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Realism, Strong AI, stats, career, customization
Cons graphics and sound have a little room to improve
Recommended it? Yes

SSHHB2K1 is a "meat and potatoes" game for the fan who wants an engrossing and realistic experience. The graphics and sound are adequate; the game lacks the flashiness and eye candy of a typical EA title, but scores points where Triple Play falls flat: Gameplay.

The difficulty levels,... Read full review »

Pros Great graphics, gameplay, and options
Cons Announcing.....ugh!
Recommended it? Yes

This is the best baseball game franchise on any platform, period. I bought last years version and loved it. This year's is even better.

The options are unlimited. You can play single-season, franchise, playoffs, exhibition, home run derby, over the 'net, and the new batting practice.
