High Heat delivers the sweet chin music.

Pros Farm system, career mode, stadiums look great
Cons Players don't look as authentic as they could
Recommended it? Yes
As a baseball fan, I've always been yearning for the perfect baseball game. The game that lets me do things that professional general managers and coaches are able to do. I want to run a team and try to put together a dynasty like no other. I want to see my players get older season after season until I cut their legs out and bring in the new blood. Until now I haven't been able to do that. Console games for the Playstation and Nintendo 64 are no longer good enough, now that I've experienced High Heat.

High Heat allows you to have a minor league farm system that you can delve into if needed. If Barry Bonds gets injured, I just might have to bring up the young stud from Triple A. Jeff Kent decides to hang it up after the season? Well I have a young second baseman tearing up Double A and he might be ready to step in.

In High Heat, you are allowed to do more things than just play baseball. This is like a strategic game within the actual playing of the game.

And the game plays great. The hitting mechanism is very easy to use. Pitching is a snap and you are allowed total control of where you want the ball to end up. And you can't just throw any pitches. You have to throw the pitches that these guys throw in the real game. The fielding is very fast so you have to be on your toes.

The computer plays very smart. The computer stretches doubles into triples. They will take a chance on a base hit up the middle and try to score from second. Pitching wise, they will bring the heat. The computer changes speeds very nicely. A fastballer with a good change up is going to be your worst nightmare.

The graphics are very sharp, except I was disappointed in the looks of the player models. They don't really look like their professional counterparts. But I'm not big into that, I just want it to play great, and it does.

The stadiums are gorgeous. Pac Bell Park is all that it is cracked up to be.

The game is great, and so is the price. Go get it, but it's addicting so make sure you don't miss work.
