The Bottom Line:
Barbie Pet Rescue for PC was a good find for a good price.
I was lucky enough to find a copy of the Barbie Pet Rescue PC game at the local flea market. It was brand new still in the package. I paid just $5.00 for it which was a killer price for the game. I saw it on other sites for way more money since it is not a game you see much in the local stores any more. It was made a few years back but was pretty much knocked off the shelves by Walmart and places like that when Princess Barbie games began coming out.
My daughter saw the game on Ebay when we were browsing some sellers stores on there with my wife. The thing was that it was an auction item. I tried by bidding $17.00 as the top price and lost in the last 2 minutes because I was not home and could not bid again. I am glad I found it in the flea market because our daughter would have been very upset if she could not get it. She loves Barbie and vet related games so this was perfect for her in every way.
For a six year old, our daughter is quite swift with her computer she was able to install her game and play it on her own. I watched in the back to see if she needed help, and stayed for a while while she played so that I could check her new game out. She loved it. She still does and it has been months since we first got the game.
To install it:
All you need to do is remove the plastic and take the CD out of the case. Place the CD in to your CD rom and click the install button that pops up on your screen. Then choose an install option. Custom install allows you to choose where you want to put the game on your computer. Recommended install places the game on your C drive for you so you have nothing else to select. The install process takes about 2 minutes are so and is simple to do.

The Barbie Pet Rescue PC game is meant for use by children who are ages five years old and over. My daughter as I said is six years old and has had no trouble playing the game at all. This game is meant for use with Windows 98 and higher. We use Windows XP on all of our computers. The game runs smoothly and the sound is clear.
Graphics:
The graphics are pretty good. For a child's PC game the Barbie Pet Rescue PC game is in great quality and color. The grass looks real, even the Barbie and Stacy characters are true to what they should look like. The colors are vibrant and nice looking. The animals that have fur look real, and the reptiles are made so that it looks like they really have scales and all. So I would have to say that the graphics get an A+
How to play:
All you have to do to play the Barbie Pet Rescue PC game is turn it on. Then enter your name. You will then go in to a rescue office. Here you will see Barbie at the desk and Stacy in the chair. Stacy is sort of the secretary. She gives Barbie the message of the people who call for rescue help for the animals. Barbie is the character that you play. You can answer or pass on the call and move on to the next one.
For instance if you took to the job to find the turtle in the park. You would have to leave the office. A car would drive you to the park. You will have to make Barbie walk through the park and click in various areas in order to find the turtle. Once you have found the turtle you would bring him back to the office.
From there you would vet check the turtle. First make a file and choose a name for the turtle. Then check for injury and illness, give him some water and a treat and file his paper work. He will stay in the computer until he is released or his owner is found.
Along the way you are getting calls about birds, dogs, missing pets, bunny rabbits, and many more animals. You will end up searching tree houses, woods, forests, parks and more. You can choose every case you get. Do you want to take on the rescue or pass it on to another rescue? Then after each case you are rewarded a badge for what ever it was that you had to do to rescue the animal.
There is a separate room where animals are kept beyond the office. You may go there and play games. Such as teaching a dog to catch a treat, finding and putting the run away bunny rabbits back and more. There is another room off of that where you have to get a mouse through a maze and so fourth. Between the two rooms there are about 10 games or more. This makes the game even more worth playing because it allows a variety of options for play.
What my daughter thinks of the game:
My daughter loves the Barbie Pet Rescue PC game. I have never seen her take to any of her games the way she does to this one. She has been playing it every day since she got it and loves when her friends come over to play it with her as well. It is a fun game for her. One where she can learn about the proper way to help and take care of animals, which animals are tame and which are not tame, and so much more.
What I think of the game and my recommendation:
If you can find the Barbie Pet Rescue PC game it makes a great gift for a kid or just a nice surprise. After seeing how well my daughter ended up liking this game it was well worth the search for it. I am happy that she enjoys it as much as she does. It is nice when you can get what your kid wants and not spend a huge fortune. I like the fact that there is no violence in the Barbie Pet Rescue PC game as well. There are many good points to it, so yes I do recommend it.
