Barbie Pet Rescue for Windows

I came to find the Barbie Pet Rescue game for Windows at Walmart department store here in Rhode Island back in December. A new game had come out and this one was on sale already. It was tagged at $15.99 and when I took it to the register it was clearanced for $12.99. I feel I got a very good bargain on it. I haven't really seen it as cheap as that any where else since then. Around here in Rhode Island I have really only seen it being sold in a store called Game Stop. And in KB Toys but KB Toys are not selling it any more. They are mostly for PS games now.

I made the purchase of the Barbie Pet Rescue game for my four year old daughter/ I know it is meant for ages 5 and over due to the fact that you need to have good skills with the mouse. And be able to type your name when starting the game. But my daughter has been using my computer since she was just over a year and a half old. She began sitting on my lap while I loved the mouse. Then she did it on her own, now she is prefect at it and some times I would say she is better at it then I am!

Barbie Pet Rescue game can be used for Windows versions 98 and above. It is easy to install. Take it out of the box, put it in the computer and click install. You can choose custom install or full recommended install. Either is fine. I chose recommended install because it puts the game on the C drive where I would place it any how.There is a CD Key code printed in the box. I was ready to put it in, but it never asked for it. The game just installed on it's own very easy. No problems at all. It took just a few short minutes to complete. Then the game was ready to play.

I looked at the game first. I wanted to be sure that it was not going to be too hard for my daughter to do. It was not hard at all. It was just on her level, she took over minutes later and began playing. She plays it a lot now. My daughter loves the game. Any Barbie fan would. If your child loves Barbie as well as animals, this would be the perfect game for your child to get.

All you have to do to start playing the Barbie Pet Rescue game is click the icon in the start menu or on the desk top. You can't miss it. It is pink and has Barbie on it. Once the game loads. Which only takes seconds. You enter your name using the key board. Next you enter the Pet Rescue Center. In side you will see Barbie and her kids sister. Barbie is behind the desk. Her little sister is in the chair beside the desk. Barbie talks to you and tells you what they do there.

You first have to find Barbie's little sister's gerbil which has gotten loose in the office. You look under pillows, behind objects and more. Once you find her you can go in to the play room. In the play room you will see bunnies, gerbils, turtles, dogs, puppies, kittens and more. You can play a game with each one by clicking below them. Or click the red cross on the wall, then choose one of them to examine. This takes you in to an exam room with Barbie where you must check the animal to make sure she is healthy and clean. When you leave the exam room after you complete the exam. The phone in the office will ring, or an email will come in on Barbie's lap top. To answer the email, just click on Barbie's lap top. The phone is answered by Barbie's little sister in the next room and the message is put through to Barbie in the office. You now have the choice of weather to go on the rescue mission or not. If you say no. Then Barbie will find another rescue to take the job.

If you click her scooter, you have taken on the mission your self and Barbie will hop on her scooter and drive. Before you go you will hear some thing like. " There is a puppy hiding in the garden of the farm, she is scared and won't come out." This prepares you for what you are looking for. Once you get there you will have to locate the puppy who could be hiding on, under, over or in some thing. In one scene there is a small puppy hiding behind a box. In front of him is a scare crow. The puppy is scared of it so she won't come out. You have to think back to see if you passed by any thing on the way that could have helped. In this one it was a sheet hanging on top of a clothes line. You need to go get the sheet off of the clothes line. Go back to where the puppy is, then place the sheet over the scare crow. The puppy will then go to Barbie who will take her back to the Pet Rescue Center to be checked.

Once at the Rescue Barbie is back in the exam room with the puppy that you found. She praises you for your good work in finding the missing puppy. Now you must check the puppy. Barbie checks her heart and other things and gives her a clean bill of health. You then take a bowl from the shelf place it in the sink and fill it for the puppy. Put it back then grab a treat for the puppy. You can also wash and bathe the puppy so she is fully happy. Since the puppy is not in the computer as a patient you can now click the lap top and name the pet, give her a special colored and shaped tag to suit her in case she is ever lost again. Now the little puppy is in the computer and if she ever gets lost or adopted you can check on her progress or rescue her again if she needs to be.

You will also get emails and phone calls from owners, One has a Macaw that flew away and you need to find her. Once you do find her and check her out at the Rescue center. You enter her in to the computer. When you go back in the office, Barbie's sister will tell you that an email came in from a pet owner. It is the Macaws owner thanking you for saving her pet

You will find all sorts of animals. Turtles hiding in wells or hiding like rocks in the grass. Bunnies on the merry go round at the park. Kittens hiding in tree houses in boxes. And so much more. The calls and emails just don;t stop. Every time you treat and animal and find one you get an award. You can ever print the award out on your computer. It goes in to a special folder inside of the game folder for you to print out to keep. I say it is a great way to motivate and reward the child for a job well done.

When giving one of the animals a check up the situation can be one way one time, and another way the next. You could have a fully healthy bunny who just needs some water, a bath and a treat. Or the next bunny could be sick and need medicine. The next might need to be bandaged. It is a lot of fun to treat the animals. My daughter at age 4 has stated that she would like to be a vet too when she is older. I like that this has given her a goal to view.

The sounds in the Barbie Pet Rescue game are great. Barbie's voice sounds clear as does her little sisters. There are cat sounds, dog sounds, all sorts of pet sounds.Also clear and realistic. The picture is nice. Barbie and all the animals are like the Barbie movie type look. They are very well done. Easy on the eyes. The colors in the scenes are great both the out door and in door scenes. The whole game runs nice, no skipping or stuttering. No trouble at all with it.

My daughter plays the game all by her self. We have a neighbor who's 9 year old grand daughter visits from New York every so often and she comes here to play the Barbie Pet Rescue game as well. They both enjoy it. It was well worth the money. I have since then bought a copy at the $15.99 price for my friends daughter who is 7. I got it for her for her birthday and she loved it too. It seems to me that this just makes a great game. There is a point to it. You must rescue the animals and care for them. The whole time you get rewarded and praised making you feel good about your self. This is good for any little girl. My nephew some times plays a s well. He may not like Barbie much but he loves animals. He finds the game to be a lot of fun too. Over all it is one of the best games I have given to my daughter. I highly recommend it.
