Peanut butter Cap'n Crunch, but better for you

Pros It's Yummy, low sugar, but sweet in tasteĀ , vegan
Cons It is hard to eat just one bowl or even make it to the bowl.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you want a natural and sweet, but not high sugar, breakfast or snack Peanut Butter Puffiins is perfect for you.
If you like Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch cereal you will probably love Barbara's Bakery Peanut Butter Puffins. They taste very similar to Cap'n Crunch but are made with less sugar (you can't tell taste wise) and they are made with natural ingredients, as opposed to the unnecessary refined stuff you can find in Cap'N Crunch. In comparison to Peanut Butter Captain Crunch the cereal pieces of Puffins are bigger, but still as tasty.

They have a light sweet peanut butter taste. I would prefer a stronger Peanut Butter taste and for them to be less sweet. They taste really sweet to me. But, they still have 3 grams less sugar than Cap'n Crunch.

They do well in Rice and Soy milk and do not get soggy to fast. They stay a nice crispy with a little bit of softness. They do get soggy if you leave them in milk too long, but what cereal doesn't. If you have milk leftover and choose to control yourself and not add more Puffins, to the left over milk, you will have a yummy sweetened milk with a light peanut butter taste.

I actually prefer to eat these as a snack. They are good to munch on with and without milk. I have a really hard time putting them away. They are so yummy to munch on.

Celiac's and others with gluten allergies, this is not a gluten free cereal. This is a wheat free cereal, but not gluten free. It contains oat flour and is manufactured on the same equipment as some of their products that do contain wheat.

I like the Barbara's Bakery company because they not only make yummy products, but they also use their time and profits for a good cause. Puffins is not only a fun name for their cereal, but the donate to help protect the Puffin birds and their habitat.

They have 110 calories, 2 grams of fat, 23 grams of Carbs., 2 grams of fiber, 6 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein and the serving size is 3/4 of a cup.

Cereal in general seem to be a bit pricey, put natural, unrefined, ingredients in the mix and you will be paying even more. I bought my last boxes from Amazon for about $3.30, for an 11oz. box. They came in a 4 pack. I have easily found them in most grocery stores and in any Whole Foods Market, but they can cost about $4.99 a box. If you have a Trader Joes, I highly recommend buying them there. I don't remember the exact price, but I alway got a bigger box so cheap there.

You do not get a fun toy, like you might with Cap'n Crunch, but on every box there are fun and interesting facts, about Puffins, to occupy your time and build your brain while sitting at the breakfast table. Plus, you will be buying from a company that stands for something. That is so much better than a plastic toy, if you ask me.
