Pros Astonishing graphics, great sound, easy gameplay.
Cons Only three character choices, some things just don't make sense.
Recommended it? Yes

This week, a friend and I were looking for a good game to play on the ole' PS2, which of course had to be multiplayer. We'd had our fill of sports games and needed something else. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance sang it's sweet melody to us, and everyone in the store thought we were crazy, reguardless... Read full review »

Pros Wonderful graphics, plays like Gauntlet Legends or Diablo
Cons Not like the PC games
Recommended it? Yes

I've played and finished both Baldur's Gate I and II for PC, so when I saw that there was a Baldur's Gate game out for PlayStation 2, I knew that I had to have it. For those who have played the PC versions of this game, you will notice right off that this is not really anything like the PC version... Read full review »

Not Recommended for PC Owners

Pros cool graphics, nice story, good gameplay
Cons not like the old D&D style, gets repetitive over time, not much thrill
Recommended it? No

The graphics and story are impressive, but it's not like the D&D style. The D&D style was designed for multiple characters/players. This game only has one, and that's where major changes come in. The concept has been changed, and it therefore lacks most of the D&D style.

The playstyle... Read full review »

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance -- A true masterpiece

Pros Gorgeous graphics, excellent sound, a true roleplaying experience.
Cons For hardcore gamers the game can be too short.
Recommended it? Yes

Continuing it's Baldur's Gate sequel, Dark Isle has created Baldur's Gate for the Playstation 2. The main difference in this game as opposed to other Baldur's Gate games is that instead of the lofty roleplaying game it was on the computer it has been transformed more into a Golden Axe or Gauntlet... Pros Graphics, Sound
Cons A little repetitive
Recommended it? Yes

Baldur's Gate was one of the best RPG games I had ever played on my PC, it's also the best I have played on my PS2. Baldur's gate has changed a bit, but it's still quite a bit the same. In many ways, I like Dark Alliance better than the first on the PC. You can now get face-to-face with the people... Read full review »

Pros Diablo meets BG, a great union! Outstanding graphics, excellent gameplay/storyline.
Cons gets repetitive after a while.
Recommended it? Yes

Baldur?s Gate for the PC is a real-time strategic RPG. Therefore it was a complete shock to me, when Black Isle, the game?s developers decided to turn the Playstation 2 Baldur?s Gate based Dark Alliance into a Diablo-like hack and slash. It is a game completely different from the PC games, yet... Read full review »

Pros Customizable characters, lotsa lotsa carnage, and a fun story.
Cons A wee bit too short, not enough character selection.
Recommended it? Yes

My archer walked into the tall gates of the city of Baldur's Gate. The cobblestone road before me was moistened by the night air. Indeed, there was adventure to be had here. Obviously, or else the programmers would not have placed me here.

And adventure there was!

From the first... Read full review »

Pros Beautiful graphics, fast paced action
Cons Short on story
Recommended it? Yes

It was just a matter of time before a Dungeons and Dragons game came to the PS2, and Interplay's Black Isle Studios and Snowblind team up to deliver Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (BG:DA). Those looking for a true CRPG experience similar to the award winning PC games will be in for a shock as BG:DA... Read full review »
