Value Added Feature:Auto Egg cooker turn on

I've had the Back to Basics Egg&Muffin toaster for about
8 months. Haven't used it that often during this period
of time, but this past weekend it decided to turn on the
egg cooker with no water in the basin and started a melt
down of the plastic parts stinking up the kitchen.
It was 4:30AM and I was made aware of this malfunction due to the excess barking from our Chocolate Lab. (Latte)
I immediately unplug the toaster and gave it a toss outside.
8 months. Haven't used it that often during this period
