Makes smoothies out of it's own gears.
Pros
Easy to clean, powerful motor, variety of available colors.
Cons
Gears strip out way too easily, it's loud as heck, no warranty.

These things are pure garbage. It was a nice idea and probably could have been a good product but there is a serious design flaw. We had ours for about 5 monthes before the gears stripped out between the blender and the motor. The motor is so powerful it just pulverizes the gear if an ice cube gets stuck and it only takes a couple seconds for this to happen.
As others have said here we also went back to using out old blender that works fine for smoothies but doesn't have the pouring spout like the smoothie elite. Back to Basics should offer a money back policy for defective units.
