Not the best ice-cream maker

The Bottom Line:
Poor quality, flimsy scraping blade and the bucket fell apart.
We bought this pretty cheap at a liquidation, but even at the cost it wasn't worth the money. The attraction of a Disney ice-cream maker was what motivated the purchase.
Aesthetically pleasing the ice-cream maker has bright red cartoon feet and red trim.
The first try to use it the blade kept getting stuck, the freezing at the edge was causing it to jam. The blade is pretty flimsy plastic, without enough strength to scrape the freezing from the side - which it what it's intended to do.
The motor strength seemed to be good, probably too strong for the strength of the blade.
When the tub rotates, it's really loud, and could be heard throughout the house. In the same room, it was quite annoying to hear.
We never got the chance to use it again. We took the freezing bucket out of the freezer to thaw at room temperature (the freezer space was needed for something else) and it fell apart. The insert separated from the exterior and the freezing liquid leaked out. No chance of repair at this point, and not worth the effort to go through the warranty.
What was strange was that even though the ice-cream maker came with the instructions on how to use it, it did not come with even a sample recipe for ice-cream. Most ice-cream makers we've had come with at least a basic vanilla recipe. This maker did not come with any - not in a separate booklet, not in the instructions, not even on the box. Fortunately ice cream is an easy recipe, but getting the right amount for the size of the bucket was a little tricky so guidance would have been of some help.
