Yes
The Bottom Line:
Good for making single serving shakes, but can be loud.
I bought this blender so that I could make protein shakes with it. The first time I used this blender, I would put in a quarter cup of water, protein powder, half a banana, and half a cup of frozen berries, but the sound that resulted from the blender made me think that it was broken. My shake ended up lumpy and unappetizing. As a result, I changed my strategy. Afterwards, I would add half a cup of water (or juice), half a banana, and the protein powder. It worked much better (blending wise), but the loud sound was still present. Since my shake came out good, I didn't worry about the noise as much. As a result, I used my new recipe, and rotated between half a banana and half a cup of berries.
The most appealing aspect of a hand held blender to me is the fact that you can blend and just take the cup off of the base and go to work or school. The only thing is, this cup was kind of bulky, and it didn't look particularly appealing. Maybe if there were a design to the hand blender, it would be more attractive to bring around.
Another aspect was the cleaning. It could be a little hard to clean if there were items stuck to the bottom. The cap, since it was screw in, was hard to wash too because of all the little crevices.
Overall, I enjoyed using this blender, but it took some adjustments to getting it right.
