Why waste time? Read your books while on the potty!

Pros Sturdy; comfy for the child; easy to use; easy to clean; reversible (see review).
Cons The chair could use a handle (a hole in the back would do fine).
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Simple, convenient and very comfortable (according to the kids) potty chair. Widely available at children's stores like Toys r Us.
There are many potty seats out there. How should we know which one to get for our precious children?

For us the answer was simple. As soon as we saw the Baby Bjorn potty chair, we needed to look no further.

Unlike most fancy potty seats these days, this one is very simple. It has two pieces: the actual potty, which holds the baby's waste products; and the molded plastic chair which holds the potty.

There are many appealing things about it. First of all, it is comfortable enough for a child to sit on (almost TOO comfortable, because some kids choose to sit and read their books, and are reluctant to get up).

A lot of potties have a splash guard in the front, which may not be comfortable for some kids. The Baby Bjorn has one too, but the potty is reversible-just put it in backwards (even though it does not look like it at first), so the splash guard does not have to be in the way of the child's legs.

Another convenient feature is that the inside part (the potty itself) can be taken out and put in a stroller or back pack and used by itself while on a trip. We actually bought a second potty chair that permanently "lives" in our van. It can be taken to a babysitter's or the grandparents' house.

The chair is very stable and can even be used on a slightly inclined plane (like in a vehicle, or out in a field).

It is very easy for a child to figure out how to take out the potty and dump it in a toilet, because it does not have any fancy latches.

The only "problem" I can think of is the lack of a handle on the chair. It has a smooth back, and is somewhat inconvenient to pick up with one hand. If someone is handy with a soldering iron, they can melt a hole in the back to put fingers through.

The potty can be purchased at any kid's store, and even at a higher price than most, it is still the best deal out there.
