The Bottom Line:
Bottom line...I wouldn't waste my money on this plate! If you like the looks of the spoon, buy them seperately if you can!
My son is 16 months old and has been using a suction cup plate that no longer sticks to his highchair. When he's done eating, he will pick up his plate and throw it on the floor. Therefore, I was very excited to buy this plate. I read some good reviews on this set and was hoping that this would solve all my problems.
In the Baby Bjorn website at www.babybjorn.com, the description of the plate is as follows:
"The three-leaf clover shape of the BABYBJORN Plate makes it easier for the child to scoop up food with his spoon rather than pushing it around in circles. The plate stands steadily on the table and is difficult for small hands to grab and throw on the floor. A rubber base prevents the plate from sliding."
Well, I put the EMPTY plate on my son's highchair and the first thing I tested was the "rubber base". Well, the plate slid all over the tray! Then, when I put my son in his chair, the first thing he did was pick up the "difficult for small hands to grab and throw..." plate and checked it out. So much for all of Baby Bjorn's promises in their advertising. Is my son just especially talented and no other kids can pick the plate up? I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!
The spoons that come with the set are cute. They have a short rounded rubber handle with a happy face on them. They are easy for my son to hold, but since the plate was so horrible, I had to return them with the plate. At $13.99, the set almost three times more expensive than almost every other toddler plate. And, at that price, I wasn't going to keep them if the plate didn't work!
