Get for the Trails - Dad's Perspective

The Bottom Line:
Perfect stroller for Mountain Biker parents. Room for tweaking with some high end bike parts :)
Being a mountain biker dad with a high end Merlin Titanium bike, this BoB Stroller is as close as it comes to a MTB for the baby biker. The stroller's main frame is very sturdy, very little frame flex and fast rolling on the trails. I even wired a cycling computer to the front wheel to keep track of our exercise.
The main wheels also have built in shocks that offers about an inch of travel. The shocks can also be stiffened for smooth surface sidewalk applications. I have taken this to off-road fire trails many times jogging with my son, but make sure you wrap a safety rope around your wrist to the stroller to prevent it from getting away from you because it has very low rolling resistance. < Make sure your tires pressure is monitored regularly for the best performance. I did pickup one flat but a Park Tool's quick-patch made it an instant fix.
I got this when my son was only 7 months old and although you can put an infant in it, it is not recommended because the seats are not padded or side bolstered at all. If you are an adventurous dad or mom, you should shim your infant with pillows on both sides in order to put a little one in the Bob stroller.
Overall the built quality is very good, I hope someday they would come out with a Titanium Ultra light version ! But as it, it only weighs 16 pounds or so and easily folded to put in your trunk. You many need to take all three wheels off (via quick release) first. If you are going to be exposed to rain, I would recommend that you spray the exterior with 3M water repellent as soon as you acquire the stroller. It would help keep the canvas material clean from water and mud. The front brake is a bit cheap, from a cyclist's perspective, but it works. Someday I may retrofit it with something better from a real hybridbike or mtb.
