Serious Design Flaws
I was just trying to troubleshoot a problem I was having with my 2000 BMW 323i and I came across an e-pinion user who mentioned a similar problem in his/her review. As I read, I started to think that the reviewer's myriad problems with the car sounded remarkably similar to mine, so while it is a... Read full review »
If You Know What You're Getting You Won't Be Dissapointed
BMW/Mercedes/Porsche all have some mystique about being this super car for some people. None of these cars defy any physical laws whatsoever. They do not fly, drive across water, burrow through mountains, or exceed super-sonic speed if you press a button. I bought my second BMW in one year... Read full review »
Like Riding on Rails
This 2000 323Ci is my "mid-life crisis" car, purchased on an online auction site (begins with a vowel)9 months and 11,000 miles ago at a fantastic price. Been to the dealer just once; the camshaft position sensor triggered the check engine light. With 61,000 miles on the clock it still performs... Read full review »

WHY A 3-SERIES BIMMER?
My 99 VW Passat was on its last leg and I was desperately seeking a new car. With VWs bolded on my black list, I was ready to venture on to newer and better things. My wife has a 2002 Honda Accord, and to this day, it's been running trouble-free since we drove it off the...

How Much Money Do you Have?
This car, 323CI, handles great. And I was really happy with it until 2003, when my car was 3 years old and had 50,000 miles on it. But after that my car started to break. So I had to put $3000 to repair all the things that broke and in 6 month I got the same quote to repair my car again. Read full review »
328ci An Objective Look on a Car That Could be Fantastic, or Just Ok...
I'm going to try and do something with this review that hasn't been done yet: Take an objective look at the 328ci as a potential buyer of a used 5-speed manual in great condition. I truly hope this is the most helpful review you ever read about this automobile- I encourage you to read through it,... Read full review »
Definitely NOT Recommended
Bought our 2000 328i new from the dealer. Enjoyed driving the car but had what I would consider excessive maintenance items:
- Had to replace all 4 tires at ~20,000 miles because of uneven wear on all of them. Car was out of alignment on all 4 corners.
- New brakes *and* rotors...

A sports car up front, a wagon in back
This being my first contribution to e-pinions, I don't want it to be somethign negative; the most positive comments I have to make is about my car, a 2000 BMW 323 iTouring.
I'm female, mid-fifties, and have driven domestic and import cars for the last 30 years, never a BMW, although I grew up...

Thrilling!
I just bought my 2000 BMW 323i a week ago, and it is everything I expected it to be and more.
The 2.5 liter 6 cylinder engine provides plenty of speed for me (I am coming out of a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 6 cylinder). Back in the day, pre-2000's, BMW would name their cars based on...

The Ultimate Driving Machine- couldn';t be put better
I love this machine!! 2000 328CI- Silver w/ light grey interior.
Let?s start off with the good stuff. I got a very heavy foot and I love putting cars to their limits. With my 328CI- I have never got this car out of control. The handling is unbelievable; you can take the sharpest corners...

2000 328Ci plagued with problems
I have been visiting the BMW shop quite often since I ordered my 2000 328Ci. 30K miles and many problems, the latest one topped it all off. Water leaks! That's right...my floor panel on the driver's side was soaked when it rained. Other problems are as follows:
1. Upon delivery of new car...

323i check engine light
My check engine light comes on about twice a month. It happens because the gas cap is not on tight enough. When I put it on I make sure that it is secure. It must come loose because it keeps happening. It happens about 50 miles after I have filled the tank. Then when I retighten the cap it takes it... Read full review »

This is why they call it the Ultimate Driving Machine
When I hear the words "German Efficiency" I think of three letters B! M! W!. I purchased a 2000 Red 323i BMW and ohhhh do I love driving it. This car hugs the road like a Russian Bear. I have never slid or spun out and that really show the effort that BMW puts into a fine automobile. The car... Read full review »
Warning to BMW purchasers
You will not believe the experience that I have had with BMW. This car has been in the shop a total of 38 days since I leased it last May (2000). There are so many problems with these cars that you don't hear about. BMW has had to replace the window regulators three times due to 'engineering... Read full review »
Lots of Frustrating Problems with 2000 323Ci
My 2000 323Ci is a great car, but its been so troublesome after only 20,000 miles that I would have sold it over a year ago (only 22 months old now) but I can't get a good price for it.
Let me list all the problems I have had with the car and describe my growing frustration:

The Car of my Dreams!!!
This had been the car of my dreams ever since I was 15, so i finally got it. My parents gave it to me for my 16 th birthday. This car is great, it is the smoothest ride. The inside is very spacious and comfortable. I have the new trim that it the color of the interior and it looks great. The only... Read full review »
The Benchmark
The BMW 3 series has long been the class yardstick. All other car makers try to compare their cars favorably to the 3, but BMW has been up to the task and continues to raise the bar. My exposure to the 323Ci is limited to the two short test drives I had back in June of 2000 when I was shopping for... Read full review »
The Affordable BMW
With the 3 series being on the bottom, the car doesn't carry quite the same burden as a 700, but the quality and performance are clearly not so refined as well. If you're not raking in six figures quite yet, but know youre heading there take the 300. It handles turns nicely and looks good taking... Read full review »
Overall and nice car
We bought our 2000 328 about a year ago and have not encountered to many problems other than getting rear ended the first month we had it and then being in the shop for 2 months after that. The BMW dealership here in dallas was wonderful in reassembling the car back to pristine condition.
