Avery Hanging Name Badges are a Perfect Solution to the Name Badge Dilemma

The Bottom Line:
I enjoyed making these name badges and wearing them was easy too.
When I used to teach preschool, we occasionally had in-service trainings. At these trainings, we often had more than one school building attending and were asked to wear name badges to identify ourselves. My building always bought these name badges and somehow, I became the one in charge of printing them up for everyone.
The Badges
Avery Hanging Soft Name Badges Kit has badges are the type you can wear on a string around your neck. There is a clear plastic case that attaches to the string. The string is included and is 36 inches long. The plastic has a top opening into which you insert the white paper that you have printed. The paper is also included and comes as 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper that is perforated so it tears apart easily for assembly. You can print these sheets on a laser printer with a variety of software programs or you can simply write on the name tags with markers or pens. The kit comes with everything you need to make 100 name badges.
My Thoughts
I found it to be a relatively easy task to print all the name tags out for our group of 50 teachers and staff members. I was able to run the white sheets through my home printer and get everybody’s name and job title on their badge. Inserting them into the plastic casing was also easy and the finished badges looked neat and professional. These were easy for staff members to wear as they didn’t need to worry about having a collar to attach a clip to nor did they need to stick anything on themselves with a sticker that might leave a mark.
These name badges are a little more expensive than others. They are definitely more costly than the sticker type of badge. But, on the other hand, they are re-usable. When our in-service staff meetings were over, we had the staff members put all of their badges into a box that we kept until the next such meeting. If there were any additions to our staff, we had to make them a badge but otherwise, everyone’s badge was already made and ready to go. We were able to use this set of name badges on about 10 different occasions throughout the school year. This makes them much more cost efficient and a “greener” solution than disposable badges.
