Avery Almost Clear Mailing Labels
Pros
Easy to use letter size clear labels by Avery Paper products.
Cons
They are a bit expensive and the labels aren't truly clear.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you want large clear letter size labels for your big envelopes or packages, Avery Ink jet clear mailing labels are good and easy to use.
Mailing labels are expensive, but handy. Avery makes a wide range of labels that usually peel off of an 8 1/2 x 11 standard size paper sheet. You can use them with ink jet printers or laser printers as indicated.
8 1/2" x 11" Avery Clear Mailing Labels
I usually like Avery products. Today, I am reviewing in particular the 8665 Clear Mailing labels that are actually a whole sheet each. You print what you want on them, and affix them to a box or whatever, and it looks like your printing was printed directly on the package or envelope. They are easy to print on, I had no trouble using them with my Epson 1400 photo printer to print color sheets. Unlike some labels, the backs are perforated for ease in removing them. The ink doesn't smudge on these labels either.
What you get - Price / Value
These are pricey. Most of the label packages have up to 30 labels on each sheet, so the price per label is low. However, with this package you only get 10 clear sheets for $12.99. That works out to over a dollar per label.
How Clear is Clear?
I will state that I didn't buy these labels to use as intended. I just moved into a new office and I had the idea of printing out a door sign to place on the front door windows. I figured with clear labels I could print out a large title for my door, reverse the print, and affix it to the inside of my door so that people coming in would see professional looking door lettering. However, the labels aren't as clear as a window decal and the effect wasn't nearly what I had hoped for. The entire sheet glistened in the sun in a sort of bluish tint that made it painfully obvious that it was just a big sticker stuck on my door.
To be fair, when used as intended, against a solid background, the stickers are indeed fairly clear. However they are not clear enough to use with glass.
Summary
I thought these were very good mailing labels. They stick well, the backing comes off easily and the ink goes on very well. I gave them four stars. I didn't give them five because I still thought they were a bit on the pricey side for what you get, and because they aren't really very clear.
